Nike Air Jordan 1 (I)

This is the Jordan that started it off back in
1985. The Air Jordan I has a very similar design to the
Nike Dunk, designed by Peter Moore. It features the
classic swoosh and "Air Jordan Wings" giving it a
different look from the Nike Dunk.
The Air Jordan I was banned in the NBA, because
they said the colors were against the league’s rules.
However, Mike still hooped in them and was fined for
every game him wore them in. The retail cost was $65.00
for the Air Jordan I, and the first colorway was
black/red. Also, other classic colorways came out, but
the black/red is the most popular because of the Bulls.
The Air Jordan I was first worn on the court on November
17, 1984 when the Bulls played the 76ers.
In 1994, the Air Jordan I was retroed in two
colorways (black/red and white/black/red). The shoe box
included many pictures of other Jordans and MJ on the
top. Also, enclosed was a jumbo retro card (unlike the
ones today) and his awards were written on the tissue
paper. In 2001, the Air Jordan I was retroed again in
black/red, blue/black, white/navy, and grey/silver. In
2003, the Air Jordan I was retroed once again, but this
time in patent leather colorways. The three colorways
were white/carolina blue, white/black/red, and
black/gold.
The Air Jordan I is and will always be a
classic....
