Here’s the follow up to our Best of recap for the 2008 sneaker releases. Our previous post was the 2008 Worst Sneaker of the Year and today we want to know about the Best Sneaker Pack in ‘08. Think about the hottest sneaker packs that released last year; DJ Clark Kent Nike 112 Pack, 6 17 Jordan CDP, 11 12 Jordan CDP, 3 20 Jordan CDP, etc. We’re talking about all sneaker brands, not just Nike. And the 2008 Best Sneaker Pack is??

Let me be the first to say that the 112 Pack was the best pack in 2008 hands down. Don’t get me wrong JB released some nice packs, but it wasn’t anything new. Not saying that people wasn’t geeked about some of the “Holy Grail” J’s, but like I said it wasn’t anything new. Dope, yes, but not new!! As for the 112 Pack, it was straight flame!!! 3 premium Nike sneakers that all retailed for $112. The most popular materials known to sneakerheads was featured on all 3 sneakers. Come on shawty! We know if Clark wasn’t involved Nike would have NEVER released those fresh Air Max 1’s, Trainer 1’s, and AF1’s for $112 (even though most shops didn’t sell them for that). Clark def was looking out for us when he came up with the concept for the 112 Pack. Everyone is not from Brooklyn, which is where the “112″ theme came from (112 is the first 3 #’s in Brooklyn’s zip code), but the point is we all liked what we saw and thats why we all (most of us) own at least two pairs of kicks from the 112 Pack. That’s just my 2 cents so feel free to agree or disagree, but TRUST me when I say I give props when its due and DJCK is going to be loved for what he’s done/doing for the shoe game (not TSG, but the culture). He will def go down in TheShoeGame History Book.

The 6/17 pack was a good release for 08, the 112 was a better release though but I didn’t get the 112 pack but I did get the 6/17.

after reading g-roc’s essay i have to say i agree. the countdown packs were just re releases and the 112 pack was brand new sneakers that we had never laid eyes on before. so yeah the 112 pack gets my vote.

well said g-roc. i feel you but i was so happy to see the carmines release i couldn’t even sleep may 23rd. it was like christmas eve for me. i will say as a pack it was not all that. the carmines is the only reason i copped the pack. on a side note i have all three sneakers from the 112 pack thanks to the tsg online shop.
i didn’t even know that the 112 pack released but that def looks like the hottest release for 2008…11/12 pack did get alot of hype but they colorways we’ve already seen before….so i agree wit G-roc

Bump all that Holy Grail J’s s**t, the 20’s CDP WERE BETTER than those cement 3’s, the 19’s WERE Better than the 4’s. Those two would have to be my favorite packages.
The 112 hands down NEON,CEMENT,COOL GREY, all on one shoe come on killin the 11/12 pack. The 11/12 pack didn’t even come out with the best colorways I mean I like those CW’s but tell me it wouldn’t nice to see the concords and the bred XII the one’s MJ wore in the Flu Game

Premium materials, well thought out colors, two kicks that 99% of sneakerheads all like/love, and a 3rd shoe that’s cool looking, different, and carried the colorway well…..c’mon, 112 pack wins by far.

112 pack was fire…11/12 was the best jordan pack…but I realli liked the nike running man pack..the shoes and clothing were on point!!…and I can’t wait to see what Djck has in store 4 us this yr…..hopefully I can get a pair!!

This is a tough one. All the jb cd packs had one good pair and a crappy one. Not liking the colors from the 112 pack. A pack I actually liked (and everyone is going to disagree with me) was the st Pauli pack.

personally I actually like the 112 pack.. i cant say nothing else. the AF1’s are freaky hot, and the Trainers are just crazy(they are actuallt the pair I like best to wear feelwise)… I dont really like air max 1’s in general but hey, he made something out of it and I think they look good too!

MOST OF THE(not all) the cdp’s were 1good pair, 1 bad pair. but in the middle there was the 11/12 and I gotta say I like them aswell.
11 are my favourites next to the 3’s, but since they got paired up with the 20’s, 11/12 is the best cdp and second best including the 112:P

^^^I agree the 11/12 CDP was very over rated…very. I could understand if they released the Space Jams and White/Red 12’s, but Bred 11’s and Taxi 12’s?? Most people should already have the Bred 11’s anyways. Like I said, the 112 Pack is the winner in my book. Thank God for the return of a few J’s from the CDP’s, but I’m rocking with the 112 shawty.

Def. dont think that any CDP should win for the best pack because of the shitty material use, and i do have to agree with G-roc, The 112 pack was by far one of the best packs to EVER release in Nike history even though i dont have a pair of any that came out in the pack but im working on it. Big shout out to DJCK for coming up with these great ideas and Happy New Years to the whole TSG community………

IMO 13/10 Collezione was the best in ‘08.
um yeah Carmines actually got this one…
the 13/10 package kinda set the pace for the whole package thing, a lot of people (including myself) had no idea about the package dropping… the 11/12 closed off the year *Extremely* well but I must say the Carmine 6’s were just…IT. They were never retro’d (in that colorway to my recollection), and they were just dope…

any ANY website that will sell any J’s for less than market price ESPECIALLY after the release are for sure selling fakes…
think about it if these were real they would sell out in a heartbeat and would never offer these shoes in every size…also there are 529 of the premier bred XX3’s….impossible…

The 112 pack is definitely the best sneaker pack of the year!! Many people say that the 11/12 pack( The Most Over-rated Pack in history) was the best out of all of the jordan cdp’s. IMO the 13/10 pack was the best cdp of em all, and definitely kills the 11/12 pack by a long shot! Think about it…the bred 11’s have been retroed in 01, and the taxi’s were retroed in 04, but in a low cut. So ppl. are basically going crazy over a microwaved pack that was basically old leftovers. While the White/black/red 13’s and the Shadow Grey 10’s were retroed for the first time. However, this is my opinion!
AlexT, Are you serious? No disrespect, but please step your kick knowledge up, before buying anything, becuase if you didn’t realize right away that site was fake, then do some research before wasting any money. Premier XX3’s for $90 HAHAHA, there are plenty of legit sites out there, but you won’t get your shoes at wholesale, or nowadays you will have trouble getting alot of kicks for even retail.. Also just because the website says the shoes are 100% legit, does not mean anything, do you think the guys selling fakes will tell you that.
If G-roc doesn’t mind, I am sure I as well as few more of us here would be more than happy to send you some links to legit websites.
to DJCK: Now that you are a Nike consultant( how sweet is that, from loving kicks to now getting paid to design your own, it must feel like a dream.) can you try to and talk to Nike about the quality of leather they have been using lately, I know the game has changed alot since the 90’s but remember the quality of leathers used on GR AF-1’s back then, would they really lose that much money by switching back to a higher quality leather.
I know we know have the Premium’s and Supreme’s, but there are so many GR’s out nowadays that if they had the older leather, they would sell alot more of them to sneakerheads, which in turn would help offset their costs for materials.
This is what I am hoping to have changed in 2009 and 2010.
