2008 Nike Retro of the Year?
Yesterday we asked our readers about the 2008 Sneaker of the Year. A lot of people said the Supra Skytop was not the Sneaker of the Year. At the end of the day it’s all based on opinions, so today we ask about the Nike Retro of the Year? Keep in mind Nike released some retro heaters in 2008. Of course the Air Penny II and Air Pippen One retro is more popular than others, but they also released the Hot Lava Air Tech Challenge II, Air Flight Lite High, Black/Royal Air Bakin, Infrared Air Max 90, Neon Air Max 95, Tart Air Tech Challenge II, and many more. And the winner is?? Let us know in the comments section…

We all know the Penny II is the retro of the year…as far as love of the shoe goes.
Had Nike marketed it again, created some sort of campaign to celebrate it’s return…we would have gonne crazy for it…
Nike released one of it flyest basketbal sneakers again after a long wait and did absolutely nothing to revive the feeling we all felt when we first seen the shoe. They just said, “hey we are dropping the Penny II”…

If JB is not included and I had to choose ONE Nike retro for 2008, it would be the ZM 95 Carbon colorway.

Best Nike Retro was the Chili Air Max 95 in my opinion. I’m a sucker for that shoe. I’ve owned every release, and particularly liked the 2008 release because of the black accents…looked real nice. Neon 95′s were a close second, but the Chili’s were my fave.

it has to be the Penny II’s! (almost)Everybody loves the Penny II’s and so many people hav wanted them since they came out years ago, the only thing that makes people not so crazy about um ne mor is that they released so many of them. i think if they wer a tier 0 or at least a quickstrike release more people would still be crazy about um.
yo G this is a lil off topic but… any info on the the release of that Jordan Head Doc. that was filmed over the summer? well i think its been in the works for a while but the last shot was filmed at the United Center over the summer. If you know anything please let me know

Pennys of course have more love by others but the Pippens are made with much better quality.
I was dissapointed by the quality of the Pennys.

wooooooooow, this is a tough one. Nike brought back too many good sneakers to even claim one as the BEST, IMO. But, since this was a good year for Nike and I managed to get a pair of both, umma say the Air Pippens and Penny Foamposite Ones.
Hot lava Atc 2′s get my vote….and brooklyn have you actually seen the gatorade 6s??..I’m real curious of wut they look like.
Even though I don’t own or care to own em, the Infrared AM90′s were on point…..
^Now TM I own them and I would say that’s the best retro, but it’s not fair for me to compare them to the others. I think I’m going to have to say Hot Lava Air Tech Challenge II’s. Those are extra dope and fresh. Penny II’s are fresh too, but Hot Lava’s take the cake for me.

the air tech challenge two (hot lava) was the best retro of year… cmon now… the hot lava is a gourgous shoe. in my opinion the hot lavas is a way better sneaker than the air pennys, and probably even better than the infared 90s. but the 90s just came out not too long ago

I just had a fresh meal of kickz meat at DQM. I stopped by ARC for more at 3pm. I flew to Australia and got so high eating more kickz meat at Hype DC. Then to Taiwan had a fantastic time played with manager RIC at Phantaci. I used Doraemo magic door to pop in Tokyo atmos store and stole the ATMOS elephant print AIR MAX 1 . Oh dear god I m so high. Iwanna fly to LA for some kickz fights at Undefeated and make sure to get one last meal at Supreme NYC c z. I m supreme Franky me. And one last thing is to Flight CLUB NYC + LA to pick up a fight with fightClub Brad Pitt. Peace and Happy New year all ya kickz heads out there! I drink R n B and eat Hip Hop too.

IMO this years best nike retros were Penny 2(bll/blue) Pippens(red/blk) blue penny foamposites. 2009 is gunna be super hard though, I can’t wait for the og colorway retro of the air max 94 CBs to drop.^^^^^^ Flatbush, are you refering to the airmax uptempo 3? Or was the shoe an actual pippen signature?
