adidas Continues to Level Up By Unveiling FutureCraft 4D

In 2016 adidas introduced the Futurecraft 3D runner, and we all thought that was extremely impressive.

One year later and it seems as if adidas is just getting started when it comes to blowing our minds and changing the game.

Today adidas unveiled the Futurecraft 4D runner, the world’s first performance shoe with midsoles created by light and oxygen using Digital Light Synthesis. The Futurecraft 4D’s midsole is born out of 17 years of running data.

adidas partnered with industrial company Carbon to make this innovation a reality. The overall goal of this footwear technology is to create the most personalized performance products.

300 pairs will be gifted to Friends and Family, and more than 5,000 pairs will hit retail Fall/Winter 2017. By the end of 2018, adidas plans to release more than 100,000 pairs.

  • This is truly some futuristic innovation that we all would’ve laughed at back in the day. Light and oxygen midsoles using Digital Light Synthesis??? WHAATT?

Imagine explaining that to someone at the gym or one of your running buddies… or just someone in general. I would pay to see different facial expressions.

I need a pair for a episode of Real Talk First Thoughts. lmao

Too bad most of their consumers won’t have a chance to grab, well unless they cough up $6000 at some shoe store.

This article is full of hyperbole and buzzwords. I still don’t know what I’m supposed to be blown away by, or how adidas “changed the game”.

  • To say this is impressive would be an understatement. From miadidas ZX Flux, boost, Parley and now Futurecraft Adidas is on it steady. While it may be true that many of us may never see a pair anytime soon I understand why that is and the strategy so it’s really okay.

The video I saw of these looks very very promising.
