Air Jordan 1 “AJKO” Retro – First Look
Sweet baby Jesus! Back in October, we gave the internets a sneak peak at two of the Air Jordan 1 AJKO retro, and now we have actual high res images.
These images will leave you speechless for the a moment, but you better snap out of it with the quickness because the comments section is waiting for some Air Jordan 1 AJKO retro convo. Peep the vintage look that was applied to the retro which provides a true OG feel.
The white/red/black and white/red Air Jordan 1 AJKO is set for a Summer 2010 release and they will retail for $125. As usual, we’ll keep you in the loop, but enjoy the images for now. Hit the jump at your own risk…

@Brinx they have been putting out kicks with the prefab vintage look (check vintage blazers, vandals, terms, dunks and alot of the old runners like the cortez and waffle racer)
@AM95 I remember those dunks (blk/cement) but the whole sole was yellow blocked evenly around if I am not mistaken and it just looked like an additional color
The only vintage looking Nikes I would cop are/were the neon nylon vandals
These are fire. The vintage look work. I appreciate that. I do wish they drop all clean pair to make everyone happy. But it is what it is. Can’t wait for the blk/red

CONGRATS G-ROC. 1st 100 post of the decade and year. I just realize that for some who don’t like the yellow vintage use some powered cleaner with a a hot wet towl and a hint of orange ginger. then the yellow will disappear.
It’s not about hype or hate, it’s about common sense. I’ve see pre-yellowed kicks on the racks for years and they stay on the rack. The reason? Shoe buyers want to break in their own shoes. It’s gives them a sense of pride. Whats the sense in pre-yellowing something that’s only going to yellow on it’s own?

The Air Jordan III Cement x Dunk is one of my favorite pair of all time; they’re easily my favorite beaters since’06. So I understand the appeal behind the fresh-vintage but there’s a big difference between those and the KO’s. The random urine dip sole looks kinda nasty. Regardless, if they release b/red I will double up.

^^I feel ya…I’m one of the few “odd” guys who does think it ADDS to CERTAIN sneakers appeal, mostly older models that no matter how recent the release was, still look “old” to me because of remembering the OG’s from back in the day (Jordan 1-3′s, Dunks, Vandals, Terminators, etc…..)
Nice. definitely going to be one of the biggest retro releases ever. But to get a og pair would be a fucking miracle. nonetheless im gettin a pair. mmmhh

Its ridiculous to say that you want a pair of shoes that already looks like you played 100 games of out outdoor Baskeball for $125 that are not REAL RETROS from back in the day…LOL…Im sorry there is no way Im paying for shoes that already look sweaty and dirty. plus the reason everybody shoes looked like that back in the day was because nobody was collecting shoes…LOL..We actually wore them and thats why they looked worn and beat up. Nowadays everybody wants to keep their shoes looking as new as possible because shoes are more valubale and collectable then back then. Nobody knew these shoes would be worth money one day or they would have tried to keep them as fresh and clean as possible for re-sale like everybody does today. To bad to becuase they are a very nice version of the 1′s but cant cop some kicks that looked like i stepped in dog shit and tried to clean em as good as i could but couldnt get it all off…LOL
Only thing that bothers me is that ive seen og pairs in better condition meaning i wonder what goes through their heads when they bring shoes back im just glad i like this one but for example what they did to the 14s in the countdown packge with the white stitching C’mon Son. Toykomike and others of a similar opinion have it right. Every now and then, jordan brand gets it right, and this is one of those times. There will be NO DEBATE as to who’s got OG AJKO’s. The test: u see u mf’er wearing them, they retro’s. We’re talking about the loch ness monster of jays. Nobody with a real pair would be retarded enough to wear them around. They are a slice of jordan history, which the owner would know. Nobody at this point ” jus ran across” some AJKO’s… They wanted them BAD. Jordan is letting those who covet them buy them brand new in the shape they likely laid eyes on them possibly….IF a person has laid eyes on a pair. Crispy fresh would cheaper the experience for us older heads………

I’m with MelloYellow on this one. I’m 27 and have been a Jordan/nike head since 2nd grade and don’t like the vintage look. I’ve always kept my shoes spick n span since then. If they get dirty, I want it to be my fault. if i want some beat up looking shoes ill find some og’s or get some good will shoes. plus only the mid sole is vintage, everything else looks new. Plus the vintage sole doesn’t look yellow, it looks like it has mud on it. How is that vintage? That just looks like your not caring enough to keep them clean. Plus most women want a man in some clean sneakers. The point of a retro is to re-release a classic in its original form. The same way it looked when it hit shelves for the very first time. A lot of my og’s have faults and cant be worn, doesn’t mean i want the retro to look that way too. if anything i want them crispy again.
^^^ @ CenValCali Thats what the game has come too with a lot of the younger kids moving in not even knowing of the past its an era of skinny jeans and impersonators it would be different if people were themselves instead of following hype and the in crowds
@ ROYAL SWAG… the truth is you just named off a LIST of Js that are RELEVANT to MOST SNEAKER HEADS & ARE CONSIDERED HOLY GRAILS TO MANY… the AJKO is a little older than all of those…. You mention the AJKO to a lot of SNEAKER HEADS (dare I say under 25), today and they probably would not be able to tell you much about them with out hitting up some GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE… HONESTLY..

I got others sprinkled here and there…but, I’d give ‘em all away if i had to choose between them and the others i named…um…when i say give…i mean just a slightly lower price…not really for free…don’t take that random off the top ish as literal…

Again, I’m still on the fence about these until I get them in MY HANDS. Can’t purchase these online and wait for my shipment to see how they look to make a decision. I want to see the shoe on my foot with my jeans (loose fitting, btw) or shorts and make a determination then.
I remember my pops having these when I was a kid. Thats why I need these so bad. He had no clue he had the heat. He would wear these every labor day carnival in NY. Reppin that Trini flag! To be honest they weren’t that popular around my way growing up. Dope boys didnnt rock em. Everybody was on the leather joints cause thats what was in the commercials and what the buzz was about. I guess the older you get the more you appreciate the uniqueness of the shoe. I remember clowning kids saying AJKO stands for Air Jordan Knock Offs. Boy were we wrong. LOL.
