I got the b/w/r colorway. They are fantastic. I get that people don't like these a walkaround shoe, because they are not that. They are a high performance basketball shoe that has luxury features. I think the reason people don't generally like them is because when they are walking around town they want a sneaker, these almost look like a dress shoe.

The pleated satin is the best material I've experienced in the laterals of any shoe, better than bullet mesh my previous favorite, which made the XVI one of my favorite and most underrated AJ's.

Maybe I like the 2K9's so much because I upgraded from XX1, which IMO is the worst AJ ever. Worse than XV, and I wore and played in both. At least XV broke some ground aesthetically and introduced woven leather, another outstanding lateral material. XX1 was just horrible. Bulky, heavy, not close to the ground, cut way to high on the ankle.

This shoe has a streamlined profile, mid cut (wich I love). It's extremely supportive and gives probably the best lock down I've ever experienced. ATP is a noticeable improvement as well.

Love the 2K9's.

I hate to say it, but, these sneakers are half a step above Payless, KMart, or WalMart brand. Although they have good ankle support, which helps you if you're a serious baller!, but, if you're just walking around in them, the only saving grace these kicks have are the leather strip around the toe, and the marble bottoms as there's really nothing else appealing about this shoe at all. Also, the leather doesn't even qualify as a good grade of pleather. For $190, at least they could throw in a "REAL" diamond or something!LOL! As a 46 year old man, back in the 1970's, we would have called these sneakers "REJECTS"LOL. It's truly a sad day when a pair of sneakers like these bear the great name of Jordan.

Royal- XI bc of comfort and style, plus I was 14 when I played in them and they were my first Js.
XIV- All around great shoe, but lacked greatly in the quality dept, mmy XIVs got thrashed from people stepping on them very quickly and the "teeth" ripped right off.

The AJ 20-22 for me had too many probs in the toe box, my feet are not as wide as the space given so I was having a lot of slipping in the shoes, plus I just dont like how the ips system felt under my foot. It was if I was off balance.

Aj23 is perfect for last year but lacked padding around the ankle.

Im 5'7" and like low profile kicks, lebron are awesome but too bulky for me. Hyperdunks and kobe 4 are GREAT shoes but wont last too long. And I never wore the kb 1-3 so I cant say anything.

This was just my review on the 2009, everyone likes to play in a certain sneaker just as I do... I happen to love wearing the 2k9.

if the 11 and 14 were your 'fav' basketball shoe to play in before this, iwould question your standard of peformance.

22,23, lebron 3-4, hyperdunk, kobe 2-4...i mean theres alot of better shoes made since 1999.

i own the white pair, and I have to say that you can't really appreciate the shoe until you try it on, its comfort at its max....and it does look waaayy better when you rock jeans with em.

I tried them on during my last camp out. Was utterly shocked at two positive attributes...

1. The shoe felt incredible... almost like the 1st time I tried on original Reebok DMX Run. 2nd. The shoe looked tons better with jean covering the top portion.

Then I put them back in the box and left the store.... :-D

I actually copped a pair because it was on sale for $120.00. But I only rock these joints when I workout/B-ball or go to the Grocery Store, and I must say that performance wise...these are very comfortable.
