Always expect the unexpected when dealing with the Jordan Brand. Once we received our invite (Air Jordan 2012 passport) to the official unveiling of the Air Jordan 2012, we knew that something special was on the way. On February 7, 2012, TSG and a few other media outlets got a chance to experience the Air Jordan 2012, like no other. Since “choose your flight” is the theme, the event was held at the Teterboro Airport, located in New Jersey.
In true flight fashion, we had to check-in upon arrival if we wanted to board the flight. After we checked in, we were seated and then greeted with an event introduction by Jordan Brand President, Keith Houlemard. Immediately following the intro, Jordan Brand designer Tom Luedecke and everyone’s favorite sneaker designer, Tinker Hatfield (yes, Tinker) hit the stage. They discussed the inspiration, technical aspects, and the design process of the AJ 2012, followed by an Q&A.
After Tom & Tinker’s presentation and Q&A, we grabbed our Cole Haan Jordan bag from baggage claim, and got prepared for the wear testing event. We were forced by professional NBA trainer, Idan Ravin, to put the Jordan 2012 to the test… and that might be an understatement. In addition to the wear testing, media was also allowed to interview Tom Luedecke and Tinker Hatfield, as well as take photos of upcoming Jordan 2012 colorways and NikeiD samples. NikeiD stations were also on hand because the AJ 2012 hits NikeiD on February 14. The Air Jordan 2012 iD will be $205.
The University Blue and Wolf Grey Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe are available now at select Jordan Brand accounts. The Year of the Dragon and the White/Black Air Jordan 2012 officially releases on February 25. View TheShoeGame’s recap below for in-depth look at the Air Jordan 2012 media event, and keep your eyes peeled for more colorways to drop throughout the year.
