Air Jordan 8 Retro “Playoffs” Changed?
At the beginning of October we posted detailed pics of the Air Jordan 8 “Playoffs”. The official Jordan site (jumpman23.com) just posted a new pic of the AJ8 Playoffs. A few changes have been made since then according to the pic they posted. The pattern on the side panel has been changed as well as the grey midsole (see comparison after the jump). If this is the case, the changes takes away from the original make up of the Playoff 8′s. However they will release next month, and actual pics of the final product will have the last word. The holiday release is set for December 22nd, the ultimate Christmas gift!

I don’t know what’s up with this new pic, but I honestly don’t think they will release like this. I just don’t see why it would’ve made any sense to change them. That pic might be old and they just decided to post it. (who knows)

I’ll cop regardless. This style of the side panel resembles the Aquas and the Chromes, but the OG way was definitely more appealing.
I’m still buying but I am so tight right now it’s not even funny. I feel like slapping the head dude of JB upside his mucking head. I hope you’re right the Kid.

The pics I posted back in Oct is how they will release. I guess JB was too lazy to take a new pic. That’s prob the sample pic, but like I said I will be getting a pair.
I hope the do lose the grey sole, I wish they would of given the aquas the speckled midsole. But the side design on the “new” pic is grosser than britney spears tampon. I hope jb gets there act together, I was so excited back when all the 12 months of jordan talk started but since ive seen the 13s I think im passin, they look so soo cheap. I miss the good ole days of jordan being a top notch shoe for the elite athlete. It hurts having a deep love for jordans & repeatedly being let down. I hope these 8s turn out they way the should cause i do need a wearable pair of 8s but i do think passing on the mangled aquas was the right decision. it is sad that JB would do this i was looking forward to the OG colorway so much thats why i still think gentry humphrey should be fired and just let the buyers vote on which shoes they want to come out and in what color and what it should have on it because I think if you were going to make it a real retro put the nike sign back on it

i was for sure gettin these but if they drop in that colorway its a definite no.
btw, the cement spizike are AMAZING. Best drop this year! i got mine 2 weeks ago and if your still thinkin about it….its not a question. pics you’ve seen do no justice for the shoes.
I like what they did with the white/red part, but the grey midsole looked much better. Still coppin either which way though.
^^Cosign. I like them either way, but I feel my OG head brethren when they say they butchered a classic. That’s the point of a retro. It’s supposed to capture the essence of the original with upgraded materials. Sadly, this ain’t been the case with JB lately. I had these when I was little, so I’m still coppin.
