Air Jordan XX3 “Real Pics” – The Wait is Over!!
On November 1st we posted the first image leak of the Air Jordan XX3 (23). The image gave us an idea of what to expect, but it was hard to pass judgement since it wasn’t an actual pic of the shoe. It took a while for actual pics to leak, and Jordan Brand did an excellent job at keeping them on the low. As always Air-Randy got them 1st and he has sent pics out and the rest is history. The wait is finally over and Jordan heads now get to see actual close up shots of the Air Jordan XX3.
On the flip side pics of the fakes hit the net before the real pics did. Rest assured knowing that these pics are the real deal. Tons of pics available for your viewing pleasure after the jump.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but whatever I was expecting didn’t look like this. It might just be me, but these remind me of the ATL Vick 3’s (minus the strap). I might be trippin, but that’s what comes to mind. The details are nice and you can tell JB really sat down and thought this one out.
I was talking to a friend about this whole XX3/23 thing and I asked him if he thought it would have been a good idea to make the Spiz’ike the XX3, as in people never knowing about the Spiz’ike until now! He said no, but the reason I said it was the fact that the Spiz’ike pays homeage to some of the most sought after Jordans of all time. Plus MJ & Spike Lee and you can’t think about Air Jordan history without thinking about them. It’s like “Mother Jordan”…lol
I’m just asking and it was just a thought. Anyhow I’ll prob still get a pair (once they go on sale) and add them to the family.

but this 23 shoe. man to me its a no go. the look T-Mac 3.5. but that might just be me. i can kinda see the Vick’s in em. but mostly the 3.5’s. all in all u can tell they sat down and thought about it. but i feel like they thought too much about it. might cop since its the last Jordan number they will put, but dont really want to. lol

These are DOPE!!!!! I love these already. Looks like Tinker hit us w/that ‘Individual Poduler Suspension’ system again…so the comfort’s gotta be there. Plus they look mad fresh…futuristic even. I think alota heads are gonna hate because they don’t have that classic AJ look/feel, that makes them clean to wear with jeans and shit. But it’s all good. Afterall, they are B-Ball shoes “technically”. This is a DEF COPP!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Tinker, and thank you Nike for all your hard work…and for all the memories.

Man these are fugly and G-ROC these look more like the Dewanye Wade 2’s than those vicks to me. Either way they are hidious and I’am truely getting fed up with jordan brand. With all the retros they are realsing in packs next year and all these ugly 23’s.They need to keep it simple and realease less merchandise and quit flooding the market with all this garbage like this and release nice kicks like the 6’s 9’s 12’s and some others and stop making all these packs and make a few quailty pairs in a nice og colorway or nice new color way for the true consumers out there not this new breed of sneaker comsumers! their not bad, and when the shoes are aying on its sides they look dope. They look really cleanly done. i don’t like the over head shots at all, and they got the dub zero’s tongue which hasn’t always been my favorite. EVERYBODY KNOWS AIR RANDYS HOOK UPS ARE RIDICULOUS BUT HIS PICTURE TAKING IS FAR FROM SUPERB, (can’t really call em good eitheir) Once matt get a hold of them or super G-Roc they’ll get the pictures right and the shoes will dif look better.

Korea said that word on the street out there (nikemania.com) is that there’s a ‘limited edition’ blue colorway dropping too…and that the BRED colorway is confirmed as well. He said they got pics of all these, but I can’t get on! Can anyone read Hangul/Korean!??? Get us those pics…!!

I’m cool on these. I really haven’t felt the last few pairs of Jordans that came out. Last pair I even remotely felt were the 18’s. They need to go back to the drawing board on these cause these aren’t hot at all

I’ve seen the black colorway… these are really nice. a lot of old heads won’t like but i think they did a good job. they stuck with what JB does best…”Stay Ahead of the Game”. These won’t get the props they deserve until its to late. So my advice is cop quickly cause there gonna tripple in value. a plus is that the bootleggers will have a hard time replicating these…

Well Im not really a Jordan head except the first 1 through maybe 5 or 6, I guess thats why I like the Spikze because they represent all the Jordans that ive liked, with that being said I think this is a hot BB Sneaker not so much jeans and a t sneaker, much like the XXII’s. I think that with the right color way (ala the White or Black and Red XI) these could be iight…So B-Ball thumbs up just straight rocking them on the block, not in that colorway…

You can’t end it like this. The J’s look okay, but this is suppose to be the last pair right? So why not hit us with something that would blow our socks off and not something that we’ll consider to be “okay”. I was really hoping I would like the 23s but I don’t. To answer your question G-Roc I would rather have had Spizikes over the 23. Oh well!
Classic and Modern. The toebox is a totaly throwback and kudos for the 3/4 cut (or 5/8… whatever). So the stitching is weak and it hits a little at the XXII PE but it’s nice. Looks to carry over the phyposite and inner bootie style of the ZLV’s. I agree… NOT a way to end the series though. My money is on some alternate colorways that will be slick!
I think alot of folks are just not seeing that these are ahead of their time.
Back in the 90’s (arguably the best BBall sneaker decade), heads where MADD HATING on alot of classics! The Zoom Flight 95, the foamposite 1, the AJ XI, etc…all these and more were hated on at first. Mainly cuz they were ahead of their time. I think the XX3 will be the same way. And we all know that growing up (if your old enough to know what I mean), ALOT of AJ’s got bad vibes on their inital release *cough cough* the XI’s, X’s, XII’s, XIII’s…and eventually became accepted, once the masses of shoe-heads caught up. I heard all the complaints. The X’s? they said “the stripes stupid, too plain”. The XI’s?? “The patent leather is gay, fuck those”. The XII’s? “Ugly Japan flag theme, Jordans are wack now.” The XIII’s? “Nasty hologram, nasty dot pattern.” And what happened? They grew on cats, and became CLASSICS.
Now for the cats that love rocking classic looking Jay’s in jeans? (mainly the AJ III, IV, V, VI heads) Your outta luck. These are headed toward BBall future. No jeans outfits here. I feel you. That sux, but what can you do?
And last but not least, whether you like the XX3, or can’t stand it. I truly think, we are all a little upset that this is it. The end of the line. We are all AJ-heads that are kinda seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I feel you. It’s a crappy feeling to say good bye…

WOW, it took me a minute to read all those comments, but I read them ALL!
Man I freaking love you guys. I’m a grown man so I shouldn’t have to say “no homo”. It’s good to know TSG news gets read by mature sneakerheads and connoisseurs. I mean all the comments are mature and none of that BS spam-ish comments by people that say dumb ish just cuz they can. Besides I would delete that ish so fast and it would never make it through moderation anyways.

Anyhow I value everyone’s opinion to the fullest. As for me, I feel what some of ya’ll said. This is a dope BB shoe no doubt, but I was hoping they would end it on a classic note, but that’s not at all the case here. Jamie you really broke it down, all the way down. I can recall people hating on all those shoes, even me. Growing up I was never a BB shoe head, I was always into the cross trainer kicks; Bo Jackson, Ken Griffey, Junior Seau, Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, etc.
So likewise I use to throw salt on the Flightposites, Zooom Fligt 95, Foamposite, Zoom Flight (The Glove), Foamposite Max (Tim Duncan), Penny III (3), and even the Zoom Flight Five (J. Kidd) and the list goes on and on. All of the shoes were ahead of their time and at the time most people wasn’t feeling them at all.
It’s the same with the AJXX3, it’s def not what most of the people were expecting and it’s ahead of it’s time in details, materials, etc. Like I said I’ve never really been a fan of Nike’s basketball shoes, but I do like a few. Like C Brown said I’m more into the earlier Jordan line anyway; 2,3,4,5 but I’m really in love with the AJ 3 and 4. It’s just not what I was thinking, but I’m not mad just sad…lol. I mean who really wants the line to end? Real talk, it had to end somewhere.
Even though Gentry said the retro’s are coming to an end, they’ll still prob release a few Jumpman23 and Flight Club exclusives. If you didn’t see the interview, don’t worry I’ll post in the TSG TV spot. Like I said before I’ll get a pair for sure, I mean this is it and they will go into my collection. How could I not add the XX3 to my collection??

I digg them but I really mean that JB could have done it bigger on these ones. it is the 23’s so they should have went with explotoions and fire mixed up with some of the feelings you get from the 1’s, 3’s and all of the classics… these are fresh but they will go down in history as the 23. anniversary model, and not a fantastic pair of sneakers

JB has grown out of the old classic sneaker thing we all fell in love with. still they are loved but not in the same way… i dont feel the first like 9-10 models as “basket” shoes(even with the technology and purpose of playing basket in…) the first Jordans where classics!! yeah they had some that wernt top notch but anyway, that feeling was special. when I look at these i get a 50/50 basketball/Jordan(legend) shoe feeling… and that is not the right feeling for a pair of shoes that should have been shot into your heart like love at first sight…

The shoe made me say wow – but in a bad way.
I just feel like if JB wants me to shell out major cake for some footwear, then the shoes better live up to the hype. IMO, these don’t. But hey, I guess I’m just an angry retrohead (I didn’t even know the word existed LOL).
With all that said, I appreciate the legacy behind the shoes, and the work that went into them. In the end though, everyone on this site has to make a decision…would you wear them? My answer’s NO. No disrespect to collectors, but I don’t buy shoes that I don’t wear. Point blank.

Ive been checking out the TSG for some time now, ive been more interactive in the past year or so just filling in with whatever scoop I get here and there…I gotta say, in agreement with G, this is one of the best conversations about kicks in a long time…All mature passionate feelings about something that we all love KICKS!!! With that being said, this is exactly what JB wants. Love it or hate it, the sneaker creates a reaction. I think that Jaime is absolutely right that alot of our frustration is that the end is here and maybe we all just wanted more. I just read through all the comments again and maybe we wont get a real response until we can touch them, feel them, play ball in them; but I think that the ones that will really appreaciate the kicks are the B-BALL heads.(Much like the Zoom BB) When I saw them, just like the XXII, i saw them as a BBALL kick, with the except of the limited edition basketball verison (and those were wack), sneakerheads never really adapted them. (Maybe BB Heads did??) Just like I said before, maybe with a new colorway JB can do the impossible and make us sneaker heads go crazy and also satisify the BB players?? (Think about it retro heads, would you ever play ball in any of the OG’S???)

mann this is the most commented shoe EVER haha..but yeah i feel like we’re all going thru stages of shock and denial and finally almost and acceptance lol..i mean i still dont like the shoe but you really have to think of them as bball shoes..i mean thats what the numbered jordans always were supposed to be for and why not?…we all really woulda liked something like the spizikes that was old school and shit but you just cant have that with a bball shoe..for a bball shoe you need top quality and technology. and jordan brings some of the most elite bball shoes to the table as the years go on…and pretty much all the jays up until about the 15’s aren’t balling shoes anymore really, not only b/c they’re older but why the hell would you wanna play ball in a pair of 4’s and bust your feet? purely for looks. of course you’d buy the most recent jay’s to play ball in. what im saying is whether we like it or not in about 5-8 years these shoes will be looked at as retroes and ppl will start rockin’em with jeans and tee’s..i feel that they are ahead of their time and it will take awhile for the sneaker culture to accept them, but eventually will be. my main problem wiht them is the stitching kinda like when they retroed those black and yellow 11’s recently and the stitching ruined the shoe imo..its just gives me an all over print feel and we all know how played out that shit is by now

I know this is hard to believe, but I don’t play basketball. I mean I will but that’s not my sport. I was always a baseball man. With that said I’ll never play BBall in Jordans anyway, so I know the XX3 will just end up being a collectors item sitting in a glass case.

A little birdie on the inside told me that what makes the xx3 unique is that the soles are michaels actual footprints and his fingerprint is on the inside of the tongue. The toebox features his actual signature and while the right tongue features the jumpman logo, the left features the number “23″, also the “mj” on the side of the shoe is michaels actual signature, and when viewed from the side the “m” becomes “23″, just like mike does in real life when he signs his name. This is what makes the “23″ a good fit for the last in the line.
^if that is true it makes the shoes more special… but sorry standing for what I said earlyer. they give me 50% BBshoe/50% legend feeling, when they should have given me 10% BBshoe and 90% legend feeling. not because of bad BB qualities but beacause of good overall jordan, classic, legend, sneaker feeling…
