Air Jordan XX5 Concept Rendering – Part 2

Air Jordan XX5 Concept Rendering

Designed and sent in by Eric Sandy.

Since athletic shoes are taking a step towards being more scientific this is exactly what the Jordan XX5 is based on. The inspiration comes from the periodic table. The chemical element Manganese (Mn) which has the atomic number 25 has a grey white metallic look and is put into different metals such as steel to make them stronger. This goes hand and hand with inspiration from MJ’s playing days giving todays players the motivation to play stronger, smarter and ultimately be better than Mike.

With the 25th anniversary upon us it is also known as the “Silver Anniversary” giving inspiration to the 3M metallic material on the shoe. Jordan was also 25 yrs old when he first wore the Jordan 3′s which had a cement print which had never before been seen or used on athletic shoes. Which brings the touch of an upgraded cement print which takes the appearance of boiling metal. Finally, the XX5 is closed out with flywire complimenting to the shoe’s light weight and durability.

  4. WADE'S World says:

uhm i don’t know.. they look like hyperdunks with cement prints. slapped a jumpman logo on there and call it jordan XX5. still gotta see the final piece

  5. de la SOLE says:

There better than the last XXV sample.

  6. JHam says:

Jordan brand needs to hire this guy for real! These are soooooooo sick!!!!!!!!! I would wait in line to cop these! The inspiration is sick too!!

  7. JKid_Covington_KY says:

    Those are tight!
I like the story behind the design.
    Good Job
    Eric

  8. looks too much like the 23s and hyperdunks

  9. equisxx23 says:

good story…and damn this are fire

  10. Baby Jordan says:

It does look like the 23 but ut looks a lot better than most of the new models that have ben coming out…the sketch of the shoe is to sick…

  11. JBlife says:

these are so sick and only look like hyperdunks because of the flywire but these I need on my feet they look like such a good hoop shoe. its one thing to just have a design but its another to have a dope story behind it. so sick

  12. skipp2myshoe says:

sum js i can wear 2 da club but datz only 1-14 and 20 everything else lookz nasty and dis shoe doesnt looks pleasing but i guess itz gunna b good for da bball court

  13. T. says:

It cool and all but i wish they didnt use the flywire. Jordan doesnt seem to be the shoe that i can have flywire and be considered jordan. idk how to explain this but like with flywire, it seems like any other performance shoe like the kobe, airmax, hypedunk-max-rize, luna-ect ect. My point is, jordans are suppose to be the shoe that is out of the norm and be unique and different out of the rest and let the rest jock it’s technology. Even though my statement is 100 percent true because past jordans used air soles and copied style of others but it is hard to explain. The end of it is that the flywire doesnt feel right with the jb. even tho this isnt like the real design, i just wanted to get the point across.

  14. CenValCali says:

So far so good in my opinion….

  15. aSh says:

Liked the first concept drawing better…. flywire is being used too much

  16. izzo says:

deep shit. Still not feeling the actual show tho.

  17. FlyySkyy says:

    iight! these might have potential.

  18. Mr.T says:

not 2 bad im liking da ankle part a bit and da tongue is good so far I just like da whole concept over all on what they r tryin to do but 4 me to cop ima need to c other cw and feel them on my feet

  19. hyestylekid says:

Im feelin em so far cant wait to see more pics in the future but it looks like a cop for me when they drop as of now

  20. the nike king says:

these are better than the other ones. the other ones look like some lame Lebrons but these are dope and i think the flywire is a good touch to the shoe. its the newest technology out and thats what MJ is all about, is support and durability. i want to see a stealth CW though!!!!!

  21. Southern Hospitality says:

    lookin good

  22. DuRo says:

That black/white drawing got me too hype, jb relax & take note!

  23. Mr. King JD says:

They are lookin real gud so far, but the actual shoes always look so different from the drawings in my opinion, hopefully these drawings will accurately represent the finished product. I really like the theme tho

  24. Eric says:

It looks like a very good basketball shoe, eventually when they come out I might try them on and copp ‘em if the feel is good.

  25. JoeJoe08 says:

Wow, these are so damn sick! The story completely hypes you up too. This E. Sandy cat really gets what Jordan and JB are all about. PLEASE RELEASE THIS SHOE!

  26. atgbryan says:

these should be interested but i doubt i’ll cop, i dont play ball, so i usually rock 1′s,3′s,4′s,5′s, 11′s,etc

  27. shoe-guru says:

These are very original to me. Does have some slight aspect of the 23s but doesnt even look close to a hyperdunk. The only reason people are throwing hyperdunk in this is because of the flywire. FLYWIRE is the newest shoe tech. out right now and guess what people NIKE owns the tech and has it patented. Oh and another thing… NIKE also owns JB so giving flywire touch to JB is something never done before. So I give big ups to E Sandy on this design. I def. can see players on the court with these on. Love the concept behind the shoe as well, thats what designing shoes such as this one is all about. Hey NIKE! JB! how about putting this guy on your payroll!?

  28. AC says:

These are gonna be on point

  29. x says:

these nice, they still kinda look more like lebrons tho

  30. MisterMcFly23 says:

pretty dope, better than the last one. doesnt need the flywire tho…

  31. o.s.t says:

Better Than Last Years 09.G-ROC or somebody,r the 3′s true blue coming 2 u.s.a next month.i’m ready 2 copp

  32. Haukqxk says:

    Yeah….no

  33. Eric says:

Sorry, no tru blues in the states this year. Copp ‘em fast if you can.

  34. MelloYelloMD says:

These arent the actual shoes, this is an artist’s rendering correct? Either way it has a nice story behind, but the shape is very similar to the 09s, but the 3-d rendering is def hot and an easy cop if they were to be produced. I think this will be better than what JB actually puts out lol

  35. future_agent says:

Nice design, very nice work. This design has lots of potential, and I definitely can see players all over the world wearing these to ball in. Looks like a great shoe to ball in with the new flywire technology. A whole lot better than last years disaster of the 09′s. Great work Mr. Sandy.

  36. Miguel says:

these on the UNC colorway will be FIREEEEEEE!!!!!

  37. KB 24 says:

Lookin real nice. Like the concept and inspiration

  38. justin r. says:

this is much better pic tha the first i’ll be ready 4 2010 4-sho

  39. jauntae says:

dey str8 bt not betta dn da 1st 1s

  40. 4DRUMZ says:

Looking real good so far… eager for a real working sample to leak!

  41. TokyoMike says:

I can’t wait to see an actual sample pic…..hope they stick to basic Jordan colorways, and if they use the Flywire, make it tonal so it’s there for performance only……if it’s black on black, I don’t care, but if it’s all over the sides of the shoes, it’s gonna look like someone slapped an MJ logo on a Hyperdunk.

  42. jr_lyon says:

WOW now these look like a top notch Jordan Brand shoe. Lets hope the next Jordan looks something like these. I hope this make it to production.

  43. jr_lyon says:

Hopefully whatever Jordan Brand comes out with will be better than the 2009′s. They definatley need to release more colorways than the 2009. UNC colorway in a general release would be nice.

  44. roc4life223 says:

naaaaw not hot to me..jus like my bro X said “we dont rock anything that micheal jordan didnt wear # wise”…sitcking to the 16.5s tho and all retros that job now and the rest of 2010…

  45. CallmeDiesel says:

The sketches look great! A fresh, innovative concept that does use elements of the hypermax, but flips it into a very Jordanesque manner. Ultimately the samples will be the end all for me, and until then the sketches look like a win.

  46. hyperflight says:

its all about performance and innovation. its not about whether you can rock it to the club or tuck your denim behind the tongue. yes retros is what made the brand and how mike performed in them but no its about the younger generation. it needs to be a great basketball shoe and not a fashion statement. these are what JB needs.

  47. E. Sandy says:

thanks a lot for everyone who commented. whether it was negative or positive it helps me out a great deal. thanks again

  48. DG says:

    dope dope dope

  49. silentstare says:

Now that’s some good work AND there’s a good concept behind it so it makes it even more appealing. This guy made his research and it shows. JB should definitely try and get this guy on board like they did with Justin Taylor. They’d come with better idea than the fusions and the ugly colorways on retros that are being hyped and sold for ridiculous amounts lol!
