Amanda Diva Talks Being A Sneaker Fiend with The Shoe Game

TheShoeGame has interviewed several celebrities, but TSG has never chopped it up with any female celebrities about their shoe game. However, that’s no longer the case because we talked kicks with the beautiful and lovely Amanda Diva. If you’ve been checking our Celebrity Footwork section, you know that Amanda Diva was recently spotted wearing her Air Jordan 3 Retro in Black/Cement.

Many of you should be very familiar with Amanda Diva because she’s been on television since she was a youngster. She’s all grown up now, and Amanda is still doing her thing, while wearing a bunch of hats. Find out more about her shoe game as well as what’s she’s been up to by reading the interview below.

TSG: For the people that are not familiar with you, please let them know who Amanda Diva is?

AD: I’m the renaissance girl next door. I’m a former MTV Vj, current host/commentator for VH1/Music Choice, DJ, visual artist, recording artist/songwriter, comedian, Twitter addict, tastemaker.

TSG: So what’s new? What have you been up to?

AD: I just released my freep “Madame Monochrome” w/ production from Ski Beatz, James Poyser, Droop-E and others. Along with 2 videos, “Catch Me” and “Manchild“. Also, I’ve been doing a lot more djaying and really locking in to spinning more events. Along with that, I’m developing a show with Nick Cannon based on my comedy, doing more art shows, and working to make AmandaDiva.com a daily destination for folks.

TSG: You mentioned on Twitter that you’re a sneaker fiend, when did you realize that you were a sneaker fiend?

AD: When I would decidedly chose to buy a pair of kicks over a meal! “The hunger pangs will pass but the kicks will be forever!”

TSG: What’s your favorite sneaker that you own?

AD: Hands down my Jordan 3′s.

TSG: Do you have a Holy Grail?

AD: The Jordan 3! But like Indiana Jones I got my holy grail! Lol

TSG: When it comes to sneaker shopping, what’s favorite places to shop?

AD: Honestly, I don’t have specific spots anymore. I just keep my eyes open walking through the city streets!

TSG: For some reason, people think pink is the only color that women like. What’s your thoughts about sneaker brands that always release pink sneakers for women? Are you tired of pink and does that irritate you?

AD: Well I actually love pink but it’s def o.d. to limit women’s style sensibilities to JUST that. I really like bold colors like purple, turquoise, and red but they seem to never use those rich colorways for women’s kicks.

TSG: If you could design your own sneaker, what company would you work with and why?

AD: Converse or Nike. I actually wear their sneakers on a regular basis and look damn good in em! Lol. Also because I think their design is classic and great canvas for creativity.

TSG: You mentioned that you’re a sneaker fiend, but are you also a shoe fiend?

AD: I’ve never had the money to be a true shoe fiend (quality over quantity and red bottoms ain’t cheap!) and have always been a tad bit of a tom boy. However, when I do, I can def see that habit developing! Lol

TSG: Besides sneakers, what other shoes do you like?

AD: Sandals. I’m a beach bum and love the summer so I love different styles of funky sandals.

TSG: How important is it for your man to have a mean shoe game?

AD: Once upon a time it was very important but with maturity you realize great character is far more important than great style.

TSG: Sneakers and Hip Hop…

AD: Are like beaches and flip flops. They go hand-in-hand like the sun and sand!
