Atlanta Foot Locker Smash & Grab Update
Yesterday, we reported on the Foot Locker that was burglarized and in the report we mentioned that it might have happen here in Atlanta. By now, you’ve probably heard that it did happen in ATL. However, last night I spoke with one of the Foot Locker managers, and he gave me the scoop.
Note: Some of the info below was not reported by the Atlanta news. The additional info was provided by a manger that works for Foot Locker who saw the surveillance camera tape.
Two Foot Lockers were broken into late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning by a total of 12 people including 2 adults and teens from Mechanicsville, which is a neighborhood in Atlanta. APD (Atlanta Police Department) also has reason to believe that two of the members belong to the “30 Deep” Gang. The burglars stole two vans and a car to pull off their not-so successful robbery. They broke into the Foot Locker on Campbellton Road in Atlanta by driving a van through the front of the store and stole a bunch of footwear.
However, the manger told me they walked past the entire stock of Space Jams, most likely because of rushing, but was able to get away with other footwear. While on Campbellton Rd., they also broke into the Campbellton Smoke Shop, and stole boxes of cigarettes worth a total value of $3,500.
After they hit the Foot Locker on Campbellton Rd, a half hour later they headed to the Metropolitan Parkway aka Stewart Ave Foot Locker. The same method was repeated at this Foot Locker, and they spent a total of two minutes and a few seconds in the Metropolitan Foot Locker and then fled the scene with the Space Jams and other footwear.
Keep in mind that the smash and grab was caught on camera, but was not released to the Atlanta media because the APD is still investigating this smash and grab case.
Here’s where the story gets interesting. Within a few hours, 6 out of the 12 people were caught in Mechanicsville, and the police caught them with all the merchandise. That’s crazy, right? A total of 12 Space Jams were stolen and recovered before the burglars were able to sell them. Overall, the total value of stolen merchandise was well over $10,000.
As of right now, the APD is still looking for the other 6 burglars. It’s being said that the crew of 12 consisted of a few females and males from Mechanicsville that originally planned to make some holiday cash but will end up spending the holidays at the Fulton County Rice Street Jail.

S/N- They gotta be the dumbest robbers not completin the mission and passin by the Space Jams. SMH.. They really deserve 2 get lock up.

the crazy part about these situations is, bad comes back 10 times just like good. if you still some hard working person’s car, then ram it into a store front, still from the owner/company. how many blessing or good things are gonna come to you. if you’re smart enough to figure out how to take from somebody, its pretty easy to figure out how to do something good & make even more money. one of my boys who manage told groc the story. he also said it was about 20+ people involved. now how much money is 20 to 30 people gonna make off what they took outta footlocker. you cant sell it for box price. footlocker has a 30 to 40% sale every weekend. so how much is the product really worth. it aint like they got a 50 pair space jams (not even 20 pair). it just aint worth it
yea. she was happy as hell when i got her shoes back. but yeah @ D.C.sneaker_freaker wheaton wasnt actually open they broke into it and the police was ok with it like wth. but yeah hope everybody had a merry christmas and will have a happy new year to you and yours! this crap didn’t only happen in ATL unfortunately…. A lot of MALL DOORS were broken down across the country… SMH
I live in Northern Virginia… At Tysons mall they said they were like 200 people deep and that it pretty much was a riot people banging on the glass and ish.. Fairfax police came and people got tased and pepper sprayed…I’m wondering if this was Jordans biggest release in a while???? i’m thinking so!!!
This is crazy… They saw a chance to make a come up so they acted on it… The Recession is here! things are gonna get worse b4 they can get better… was it worth it no… but i see where they were coming from… Locked up they won’t let me out… threw their lives away for 10,000 that was gonna be split between 12 people WTF were they thinkin lol
