Complex put together a Best Sneaker of 2009 list. DJ Clark Kent, MAYOR, Matt Halfhill, Chris Vidal, Joe La Puma, Bradley Carbone, and Will Whitney debated about which sneakers were the hottest of the year. Somebody tell Kanye he’s not #1 on the list, but of course the Air Yeezy made the Top 10. As a matter of fact, the Air Yeezy was ranked #10. Check back tomorrow for #9!

#10 that’s it. they had the most anticipated release of the year. all the kicks sold out the same day they touch the shelfs, three dope ass colorways, and if you need to pay your rent just auction off a pair on ebay and still had some money left over to also pay your phone bill.
Just because the sneaker was super hyped doesn’t make it top sneaker in ’09. Frankly, I think the Yeezy’s are pieces of shit and I can think of a doesn’t releases off the top of my head that I think are MUCH better.

a)Is it comfortable(I sold my CDP IVs because they fit my foot weird)

WITH THIS BEING SAID…… IMO, the YEEZY was not a TOP 5 shoe for 09. It is definitely not #10 in my book either though. I would rate it #7 or so.

The Yeezy?! THE YEEZY?! Mayor is right, the Air Yeezy is an ugly piece of crap. But not only is it ugly, it was hyped like crazy, came in stupid colors including pink on the inside. No self respecting man should wear pink ever, unless a girl planted it on his face. Nike should have given the opportunity to someone else. Kanye is a moron, and even if you tell him that, he refuses to believe it. He’s one celebrity that should croak, because he’s THE WORST ONE. I would love for someone to give me a pair of Air Yeezys, so I could go on a roadtrip, and use them to take a dump in. Or I could use them to start my fireplace going. 700 dollars for these bulky pieces of sh*t with a dumb ass enormous strap. These Japanese space boots should have stayed in the cartoons.

where to begin,am95connoisseur def a good way of rating a shoe, for me the yeezy’s were way overhyped and way overpriced, hell if im paying 700 for any damn sneaker(sorry not rich) second i have multiple jobs so camping out for a week or two isnt happening, the shoe itself isnt too bad, wouldnt mind owning all the cw’s but not a huge fan of the huge ass strap and not a fan of douchebag kanye being associated with the shoe, i do believe the shoe belongs in the top ten this year though, just wont ever be in my collection

Really? First off, I think the Air Yeezy was easily the best sneaker of 09. Put the damn hype a side and you have a great shoe with awesome quality, design and comfort. I dont care how many AF1s that dude MAYOR has but all he did was this Kanye sneakers. Kanye better diss this dude on his next track he gets on. Not trying to start a war to popular Mr. Converse King but there is many hot shoes that come in pink. First I can think of are the Nike SB Stussy or the SB Gibson which is a underated sneaker imo. Plus the retail of the sneaker was 220 so it no one is forcing no one to drop 700 dollars on a pair of Yeezys. I got my Tan Yeezys at Bullet in Guadalajara Mexico when I missed on them at all my close stors in L.A.

(1.) LIVESTRONG FLOMS….a rumored 24 pairs of OG FLOM’s, only 500 of the LIVESTRONG colorway….more limited than the Yeezy’s (3000 of each colorway on those,) and they were produced for a great cause. They win as far as I’m concerned.

The Yeezy’s…..I was GEEKED about the initial black/GID colorway….that’s what got me crazy about that shoe….the three colorways they dropped were nice, but not enough to make my PERSONAL list….had they actually dropped the ones Ye wore at the Grammy’s, they’d have been number one without question.

Why is everyone keep sleeping on the retro 1 hare. they came out in april 2009. they made excess 1′s this year but those 1′s are in the top 3 retro 1′s ever made.

Ayo Yeezy’s are the first ever nonathlete signature sneaker by Nike . Nike denied Jay-Z who was and is a far bigger artist a shoe yet they gave it to the man who he said shouldn’t rap at all. That says something about crossover appeal . Ye designed these with the air force five, ato matsumoto , bapesta and crap load of other sneakers he loved. Dude took his time instead of slapping his name on his shoe and being giving material like Mayor and many others . Dude designed his shoe from the sole up. Honestly if you feel pink is girlish or effiminate color then you are very insecure. Regardless of the fact Kanye designed a classic first time shoe he did it with his own designs he didn’t need to tell us a story behind the shoe he just made the shoe no this shoe is inspired by an airplane or a panther. This is 1 crazy innovative shoe & I can’t deny that, I honestly thought it would’ve been up there in the top 5 also, G-Roc.

Yeezys are easily a top 3 shoe of 2009. NO QUESTION! I dont know what you guys look for in a sneaker but I am pretty sure the yeezys have it. A majority of you probably dont even own a pair which is why you talkin down on them. Yeah they may “look” bulky and big (which they are) but this is probably one of the most comfortable shoes that has ever touched my feet. And that “pink” that someone talked about earlier is mad soft and comfortable and compliments a lot of other colors. If you have no sense of style then you probably wont like these shoes but if you do then you will appreciate what this shoe brings to the SHOE GAME!
