The reaction to the Blast from the Past: 2000 Eastbay Magazine post yesterday made us all feel young again, so today we’re taking you waaaay back to 1994. Where were you in 1994? Well, these Holiday 1994 Eastbay pages may help you remember. Seen on these pages are the Air Max CB ’94, Air Jordan X, Air Hops Mid, Mega Force 3/4, Converse Destroyer Mid, Converse Backjam Mid, and more. Also, a very special spread is seen after the jump that will definitely make you feel very youthful. Hit the jump, and enjoy the memories.
Props to SC for the images.

I also remember a couple people buying the Nike Basic Original Basketball Mids and trying to pass them off as Air Jordan 9′s…
I was 18 yrs old and a sophomore in college when these dropped.. worked at Champs in baltimore. bought 1 pair and *got* another 3 pairs.. i believe i still have them.. LOL.. damn i’m old..
i was in 4th grade then i love the all black ones CANT WAIT
lol i still remember getting this issue in the mail. man, i wish they’d bring starter jackets back out, id rock the everlasting sh*t out of one..
@Chevyboy
You aint lyin. Lol. I remember people trying to pass off them Nike Basics as 9′s too. Lol. Chics used to wear them a lot but the hot chics wore the 9′s. LMAO!
G-Roc’s idea is so original that some dude from NT came on TSG & started a thread and not only used “A blast from the past” but used G-Roc’s pictures!

Those starter jackets go hard
I guess it’s the OLD FART’s turn…. I was 20 and I didn’t rock these…. I was rocking the AIR STRONG, AJ IX, AIR MISSION, AIR UNLIMITED, COMMITMENTS?? (i think that’s what they were called) and AIR MAX TRAINER 94s (green joints)…. (MY FIRST SPLURGE ON KICKS)
.
in 95/96 I ended up getting the CHICAGO BULLS STARTER JACKET with the ZIPPER on the side….. SO FRREEESSSHHHHH….
I was 15 and wanted those Barkleys so bad, but they were too much. But I was rocking a Miami Hurricane’s Starter Jacket for the winter and a Pheonix Suns Starter windbreaker in the spring. I remember at the time the X’s seemed like a dissapointment, even though I was feenin’ for them when they retroed a decade later. Also retro’s started poppin up in the Jordan 1, 11, and 111 but no one was coppin’ them as they just didn’t work with the flahy look of 90′s clothes. Funny how all the stuff that was ignored became huge later on. I also remember Adidas sweathirts were real big and Deon Sander’s shoe was huge.
the nike basic originals look like those ugly ass fusion 9′s, and nike really needs to retro the nike mega 3/4
I like that it’s strictly people in they mid 20s and up and no ignorant youngins in this topic
remeber this issue shoot i was 17 everybody in high school had them barkleys 810 flint michigan
I Really Don’t Remember The White CB’z Hard Body There Was A Crazy Nike Barkley Jacket Back Around That Time Saw It On E-bay Not To Long Ago
WORD TO MY OLD FOLKS ON HERE lol….I was 20yrs old and already living in Japan. Used to love getting my Eastbay mags in the mail!!!!
haha…..i had the cowboys and white sox starter jackets…the memories …the sox one was my trouble making jacket. i skipped those barkleys (regretably). I was 14 when those tens were out. i would always double check the weather as i never wanted to expose them to too much of the english weather!
Damn i was only like 6 or 7 when these came out though i remeber the starter jackets i had the notre dame, charlette hornets and a bulls starter though wow was young but still good memories
I was in 8th grade in the fall of ’94. Everybody about 10 and up should remember when Larry Johnson was playing for the Charlotte Hornets and did commercials as Grand Ma Ma. Classic Eastbay right here.
The Converse with the React JUICE! Man, Larry Johnson was on top back then. Gold “toof” and all..lol
I still have a copy of this mag.
