CLOT Nike 1World Air Force 1 Interview

The 1World Air Force 1 designed by CLOT might be the most unique AF1 from the project thus far. CLOT wanted people to be able to customize their AF1′s, so they used a two layers which allows you to tear-away materials to your liking. Staying true to Chinese culture, the CLOT crew decided to use silk on their 1World AF1, but trying to pull it off wasn’t easy at all.

Yes, it was difficult to get the shoe from the concept onto an actual shoe, especially as the idea was to create a shoe that has two layers and can be customized. The laser patterns also had to be identical to the silk on top. Since silk is very delicate fabric, it was prone to damage. With the help of Jesse Leyva from Nike and Fraser Cooke, we were able to overcome this process and come up with the final product that you see right now.

Hypebeast interviewed Kevin Poon (Co-Founder of CLOT) and got the inside scoop on the CLOT 1World Air Force 1.
