Converse Artillery Basketball Shoe
Hopefully you got a chance to check out the Converse Basketball Fall 2009 video preview. In the video it’s was no secret that Converse was planning to introduce new innovative basketball models for their consumers. Take the Weapon EVO for example, an updated version of the classic Converse Weapon, which is one of their heavy hitters for Fall 2009.
The “Balls Technology” is the new cushioning system by Converse, and BT is featured in a number of their Fall ‘09 footwear. Today we take a look at the Converse Artillery. Criss-Cross straps that’s very similar to the Air Raid and Air Jordan 8 is featured on the shoe. This just might be all the artillery you need on the court.
Go into battle well armed. Combination synthetic and full grain leather upper with foam collar and speed lacing system for personalized fit, midfoot strap that locks the foot to the footbed for enhanced support, and outsole with pivot points and herringbone patterning for increased traction.

What are you talking about, nikelikeme? Converse still has Kirk Hinrich, and others. They’ve already been wearing the Weapon Evo on the court for months. These shoes are cool looking. The cross straps look like ammo belts you’d see a one man army wearing. Carrying a heavy machine gun in his hands and mowing down his enemies. That’s how two guys got the medal of honor in WW2. I’m kind of wandering now.
So back to the shoes. They obviously don’t have the new Balls technology. But they are still a hell of a lot better looking than what Jordan is putting out now. Converse is at least making an effort to step it up and diversify their product line, while Jordan brand’s quality stagnates, and their products don’t command an enthusiastic reaction in people who have been fans of theirs for years.
Dwyane Wade is a big baby anyway, and although he’ll have Jordan’s silhouette on his feet, I doubt they’ll be too quick to make a signature shoe for him. Converse was very generous to him, and he bit the hand that fed him. Don’t forget that Jordan and Converse are both owned by Nike, and if he tries to pull that stuff again, he’ll probably wind up wearing Adidas.

U crazy to think converse puttin out better than jordan i dont even like jordans that much but i would buy the over realesed jordan 1 over these fusions the 2k9s over these come on now lol they should just stick to chucks and that aint for everyone

Yeah Blue cheese, well that’s your opinion. But these shoes aren’t for wearing to special events, and keeping them clean by constantly wiping them with a rag, and making sure they don’t get wet, or just keeping them in the box and looking at them once in a great while like 150+ dollar Jordans, and pulling them out to brag to your friends that you have the “OGs”. They’re basketball sneakers. Not a fashion statement. Converse basketball isn’t about fashion. It’s about winning.

Also, it occurred to me but I didn’t include this in my previous post. But artillery is a weapon, so these are technically another version of Converse Weapons.

Nah, he doesn’t have to stand alone. If anyone played in the 0100’s from last season then you should enjoy these. From what I understand, the Converse Artillery incorporates the same “FEEL” techniques used to make the 0100 one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. But to each their own.
yah well i think nike should tell converse to finally stop with their bball kicks I know they got the whole history with the weapons and all but this shoe is just plain ungly
