DJ AM Nike Dunk High (First Look)

DJ AM Nike Dunk High

You no longer have to wonder about how DJ AM’s Nike Dunks look. Here we have a first look at DJ AM’s collaboration with Nike on a Dunk High. They reminds us of the the black/red SB Dunks that dropped in September, but AM’s Dunks differ from those in a few ways. The black/red colorway is proof that you don’t have to go crazy when designing a pair of kicks. AM used black patent leather with red premium leather, and a silver swoosh. DJ AM’s logo is also seen on the tongue in case you thought we were  joking about these being his Dunks.

They popped up on Kasina, but we don’t have any info about a release date. Enjoy the images for now, and once we get more info it will be posted. Check out the pics after the jump…

  2. So Sick! Must Have!

  3. These look great I read somewhere this is part of a collection with Nike. Hope that is true and can’t wait to see more and hopefully these release in a way where there accessable. At least no more than a quickstike. A Tier Zero release would just piss people off not want then more.

Anything to make a buck, eh Nike? I think it’s too soon.

  5. these are tite

  6. ^ i agree. they using d.j am’s name to sell sneakers and that’s being greedy. also this is nike’s opportunity to steal 1 of air jordan’s famous c.w.

^ you guys seem to have forgotten that one of DJ Am’s favorite pair of sneakers was his red/white/black Air Jordan 1s. He was seen wearing them on numerous occasions, and I’m not surprised that he used those colors on this collab.

  8. *gasp these are in a word…redonculous

I’m ready working on getting These! I’m not playing around with these Joints!

  10. lame

  11. Hey how about we don’t jump to conclusions so quickly when we don’t have the details. YOU don’t know if Nike is doing this just to get money…the livestrong campaign sold shoes where 100% of the proceeds were donated to Lance’s foundation. So MAYBE Nike is giving a portion of the money from the shoes to DJ AM’s charity. I may be wrong and I may be right but I’m not gona say wut they’re releasing the shoes for wen I don’t know and YOU shouldn’t either. People need to stop talkin like they know everything! Talk about the shoes which we can see and critique.
–I’m not feelin the shoes too much foreal foreal. The red and black leather looks soft which is nice but nuthn special about the shoe to me.

  12. No disrespect to DJ Am but I dont see wats the big deal about these. They are very plain, nothing nice about them in my opioion. Not feeling them at all.

Not sure if thats really red…Looks more Infa or pink….And to everyone asking what the big deal is or they are too plain…why is that for a pair of kicks to be fresh they gotta be neon pink or loud??? Or glow in the dark??? Or be all 3m???? Or have a god damn window on them…What happened to kicks just being fresh for simple colorways??? AM was a true dunk head…and people forget (except Chevyboy) that his favorite was black and red J’1’s which dont get more simplistic then that…Go get some BTTY Dunks or series 1 SB..and tell me that (sometimes) simplicity is timeless..

I dont think it a money thing, I see it as more of a tribute because everybody knows that AM was a sneakerhead. If they release these, they will easily be a part of my collection not only because of how they look but a shout to a fellow sneakerhead.

P.S- These are crazy!…u can never go hungry with BRED! LOL

Nice dunk…. simplicity is sometimes more. Hopefully it won’t be difficult to get. Are people forgetting that before DJAM passed that he mentioned on TWITTER that he was collaborating with NIKE on a DUNK????? I don’t think NIKE is doing anything crazy or out of the ordinary….NIKE-Dropping a sneaker for PROFIT???? GET OUTTA HERE!!!!!! By the way, are these going to a PREMIUM or SB release???????

  19. Comment by AM95connoisseur November 30th, 2009 at 2:29 pm

    It’s a PREMIUM release.

  20. No disrespect, but these are weak

  21. Comment by BIGGRIZZLY November 30th, 2009 at 2:36 pm

for all you cry babies, if you did your research you would know that Nike isn’t “trying to make a buck” off a dead man. DJ AM said he was working on a shoe BEFORE he died. AM95Connoisseur is correct. but then again, most of you wouldn’t have known about AM if it wasn’t for his shoes or his death. just like 90% of you wouldn’t know about J Dilla if it wasn’t for the t shirts.

  22. Comment by Chevyboy November 30th, 2009 at 3:08 pm

    ^right on…

  23. the holes in the back part of the dunk’s, DJ AM might have gotten inspired from his technics turntable. Sick touch!

  24. It’s nice.

But yeah…way to cash in the DJ AM’s death.

    GG

  25. nice simple cw, i’ll be copping, im sure nike will donate part of(if not all of) proceeds to dj am’s charity

  26. Comment by Diamondlife November 30th, 2009 at 6:05 pm

These were supposed to be part of the east vs. west pack but were pulled out of respect for his death.

  27. I thought Dj am wasn’t that fond of patent leather…
But it’s a clean shoe I don’t get the perf tho

When DJ AM died i was so sad. I cried for 4 weeks straight and couldn’t eat without vomiting. It was so traumatic, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I had gotten arrested for taking a pair of the “what the dunks” setting them on fire, and beating my 3 year old daughter with them (she messed up the Jays I copped for her last year anyways). But when AM died, I totally lost a grip on reality. I spent 7 days camping out in front of Alife… for no reason!!! They didn’t even have anything dropping. I went completely insane. I never met him personally, but i feel we connected through his DJing and his sneaker collection. He was just so awesome in every way. I miss him sooooo much. RIP DJ AM
