DJCK “Gucci” Dunk vs RESN “Gucci” Dunk
People were taking shots at the Gucci Nike Sportswear Dunk High designed by DJ Clark Kent once images first hit the web. Most people said they would rather have the Gucci SB Dunk High, and some were a bit confused as to why Nike was dropping two Gucci inspired Dunks. However, once the Gucci Nike Dunk Hi Supreme Spark hit stores people were able to see the quality, and started to appreciate them. Some are still convinced that the Gucci SB Dunks is better.
With that said, TSG’s own, ATL Dunk Junkie put together a Gucci Dunk High comparison. This is perfect timing since the Gucci “RESN” SB Dunks just released. Check out the video as ATL Dunk Junkie provides a detailed look at both Gucci Dunks. At the end of the day, it’s all about what YOU like.

All i rock is SB’s so i have to go with the RESN’s. DJ Clark Kent def put more quality into his Gucci Dunk. Much respect for that man.
Gucci CW is so tacky, and then having to see it on sneakers that any 14 yrd boy can get makes them even worse…. I compare it to the tommy hilfiger craze of the mid 90’s. Its very own hype has killed it. But as far as which one is better, I gotta go with DJCK just cause of the gummy sole, it fucks the SB raw dog

I love them both, but prefer the SB’s. Black denim is something different, and I like the red outsole (but wish it was as sticky as the DJCK’s).

Clark put a lot more thought into the quality and ability to wear this sneaker ALL YEAR round. Sticky Rubber, the Nike 3xdry system for example. It also has a zoom Air inner sole which does not happen often in a Non-SB Dunk.
Plus with a Denim shoe (SB case) you can’t wear that with blue denim. Everyone knows (I hope) that you can’t mix shades and washes of denim in one outfit..so the person whose going to wear the SBs with blue denim is going to play his or her self. But you can wear Clark’s shoe…it’s leather.
The SB shoe was 1st in creation but Clark’s made sure that in light of that he smacked it out the park. East for the Win.
I would have to say the SB takes this one. The DJ Kent Ostrich print is kind of tacky. Plus I would pick denim over the ostrich print. I’m going to use sand paper to make the denim a little messy or even skate in them would be easier. Material on the Kents are better but no random sneakerhead is going to bend down and rub the leather. LOL
For godssakes turn the music down when the man talks or play something with no vocals!!! If y’all want to get real money in the broadcasting game then that’s the basics. No disrespect but it’s hard to listen to the points made when all you can hear is some comedy rapper going on about purple drank. The dude coulda read out next week’s lottery numbers and none of us woulda heard.

i just finishing coppin my GUCCI’S SB’s from tactics for $107.95 yup 107….
I gotta say I got the Clarks and they are HANDS DOWNS the MOST comfortable pair of dunk hi’s I have and I have SB’s and regular dunks, and non of my SB’s can even compare to the Clarks. SB hi’s are usually really stiff until you break them in but straight out the box the Clarks fit like a soft ass glove. In the video (unless I missed it) he didn’t mention how on the toe of the DJCK there is another layer of red color under the green that you see in the air holes, it really makes them pop.
Also he shoulda pulled out the insole and checked it out cause even that is better quality than SB’s.

DJCK hands down! The materials used on the shoe is amazing. He trully pays attention to detail on the most minor things, and that in my opinion helps in putting his shoe over the top compared to the RESN’s. DJCK FTW!!!

@macabrecrown666: That isn’t saying much considering that most of the releases have sucked. I’d copp but considering the whole SB thing, since they don’t come out with alot of fire like they used I think this is a def copp and will be the first SB’s I pick upo since the Thrashins.

Thx for the great vid atl… but you definitely should’ve turned the music off…. I went to New Jersey Skate shop known out here as NJII (SHOUT OUT ONCE AGAIN TO NJII, HOLDING DOWN THE SB DUNK GAME OUT HERE FO’ SHO’) and saw the Gucci dunks…. and wasn’t impressed…. that DJCK dunk which I have is the REAL DEAL…..Like ATL said, the materials are flawless. I know I have divorced SB but I tried on those BLOODY GUMS or whatever they are and fell in love with that shoe…. I am going back tomorrow and copping those suckers… SMH….. I shake my head at every shoe that I get that I had no intentions of getting…..
by the way… NJII will be dropping the GUCCIs this SATURDAY at 12pm…… NEW GUNSWICK STAND UP…LOL
I have to agree with macabrecrown666. Alot of places still have the DJ Kents on the shelves. The Nike SB RESN are flying off the shelves. I feel that only the people who agree that the DJ Kents are better, are people who couldn’t get their hands on a pair of SB RESN. Or have spent their money already on the DJ Kents and not willing to dish out for the RESN. Sorry for the hate but I dont see how the DJ Kents are anyway better than the RESN. I mean come on the DJ Kents are a General Release basically and at all the Niketowns across the nation.
no no no. QUALITY > HYPE. Just because a shoe is GR doesn’t make it less hot. JORDANS were GR releases and now look at ‘em. Damn near all of my 3s came from FINISH LINE.

Thanks for the comments and advice about the music folks…but there are a few facts that need to be addressed.
First off, the SR price of the RESN SB’s is $108 and the SR price of the DJCK NSW is $135…..that tells you what Nike put into each shoe.
Second, I dont think we will see any of the DJCK NSW on a Sale Rack. No matter what quantity those are released in they will sell….I guarantee it.
and Third, the only reason that Clark designed this shoe with the “Gucci” colorway was because SB was not going to release it…All of the SB heads should be thanking him…he wanted to do something for the REAL sneaker-heads but he just put his “fresh” twist on them and I can assure you that there is nothing tacky about this sneaker….If you think they are “too much” or “too busy” thats because you prob dont have any fits fresh enough to pull them off.

Those RESNs are not going to be hard to get for someone who is up on ‘em or especially for those that are sneaker heads… AZNflightfreak23 – The truth is the only reason why the RESNs are flying off shelves is because SBs aren’t everywhere….. believe it or not, not a lot of retailers carry SBs… It’s hard to get an SB account furthermore get a TIER 0 account. (that’s just a fact). The moment I saw those DJCKs I bought them…. the shoe is a great shoe PERIOD… Both shoes are dope if you ask me. The part that’s crazy is the retail for the RESNs is $108 but they are probably gonna sell out my way for $150 or $175 because of hype… those DJCKs will be around and probably even go on sale….

I live in NY and COULD HAVE copped the Sb’s, but after I got my Clarks home I was like forget them Sb’s. Quality over Hype! And whoever said sale rack is retarded!

The East VS West Gucci joints do have way better quality. But I don’t personally like the ostrich print on any shoe. I also don’t like the gumsole either (only on this shoe). In NY the DJCK dunks ARE sitting around. I haven’t seen them marked down yet, but given the time frame shoes have to sell in this economy I believe it is inevitable. NY skateshops are selling the SB’s for no less than 150.00 for the most part and selling out. I even passed on the DJCK’s for 65.00 no tax. I like the SB’s for the denim and the red outsole, I just wish that the midsole was also black.
Never liked any shoes DJCK did besides the 112 pack.
