Doernbecher Air Jordan VI – Any Luck?
Today is Nike Doernbecher Day, as in the official release day of Nike’s Doernbecher Freestyle 6 charity sneaker collection. The 2009 collection is made up of 6 uniquely designed sneakers, but the most popular shoe since 2007 has been the Doernbecher Freestyle “Air Jordan” model.
Congrats if you were able to score a pair of Doernbecher 6’s early on Nike.com or this morning, but do you even know the name of the child that designed them? Come on, in all of your getting, get understanding (Proverbs 4:7). In case you only bought into the hype, and didn’t take the time out to educate yourself about the Doernbecher Jordan VI, the kicks were designed by Jordan Dark. Although the kicks are highly sought after, keep in mind that all profits help raise money for the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation. It’s all about the kids!
True, it’s for a good cause, but the shoes are limited and as always, the Doernbecher Jordans are the first to disappear. With that said, were you able to get a pair? Any luck? Talk about it in the comments section…
I just got back from Niketown Portland with a pair. All the Doernbecher edition shoes look better in person. The 6s are especially nice. For basically being Nike’s headquarters, it seems as if everyone always sleeps on these releases (not just the charity shoes, but any quickstrike or limited release). I can usually walk in late and still get my size or on some quickstrikes I can even walk in like a week or two late and still get my size. I walked in at noon after they’d been open for a couple hours and while they didn’t have a FSR, they still had plenty of sizes. I hope the Space Jam release goes like this too lol. I know it won’t though.

nope. I went to house of hoops, but they only released at nike accounts. Instead I got the limited edition kobe 4 home colorway and I love them sooooo much. I now want another pair of kobes
Some of the kicks are still available on Nike.com. Also, make sure you call around to the different Nike Towns to see if they have anything left. You never know, sometimes people actually return them after failing at a quick flip or failure to trade for their size. Just a little advice.
Just spent my shoe money for the month on the RESN SB’s!!!! Tho these would have been a good buy and the cause is awesome… defly a give give situation maybe next tyme!!!

I did stay up all night for the online release but I did not get my order in fast enough at like 4.30 . Got to nt chi around 830 and everyone infront of me was going for their second pair so I was thinking I didn’t have a shot but I walked out with my 2 10s and I coulda gone back for more. Nt chi had to have had mad pairs cause the line was pretty damn long and everyone was getting seconds.

Well unlike the dude from portland the jordan heads from the CHI had a line forming at the niketown downtown chi last night around closing time… If your from the chi or ever been around this time of year you would know the it’s cold and windy like no other… Well i waited and cop’d a pair of the 6’s which in my opinion is the sickest colorway that i’ve seen in while. Well they should go real good with my Doernbecher 1’s, never had a chance to cop the 2’s… All in all another well worth the wait to add to my collection… next SPACEJAM …

I stayed up until around 5:30 eastern time last night. Got 3 pairs right when they popped up on the non flash site. Went to sleep; much deserved. Got a call from my boy in NY. He landed me 2 pairs for retail as well. Then another guy scored me one more for retail. If your connects are right and you look out for others these weren’t to hard to obtain. I love these shoes. I love supporting doerbecher and have every jordan from the series. I have been playing baseball since I was 4 and these mean a lot to me. Great shoe!

I got mine. I love them. The quality is on point and I can’t say that on the norm. JB’s quality has been lacking, but these were made with good quality material. I don’t see all of the crappy glue either. They’re well made.

Hoping for a re-stock on ndc!?!? Not sure when they put em’ up but they were kind of hidden… ndc didn’t bring attention to them at all. I had to go to mens basketball and scroll down just to find them. Still a size 17 & 18 available which if you think about it would be a SICK display shoe. Man G-roc u are not lying about that. For the second year in a row I was lucky enough to sleep in and still cop a pair from NikeTown LasVegas. So I’m very thankful an like G-roc said it’s about the kids so shout-out to Jordan Dark and Mr.Boober for making 2 of the Dopest Jordans ever! And people please remember Nike.com last year a day or two after did a restock so look out for that to.

I was able to get a pair for my boyfriend who lives in Arizona and currently on active duty. I got my pair in my city of Portland, OR and I have to say, I can’t wait to see him wear them! There was hardly a line at the downtown NikeTown which made it much easier to get a pair even though the freezing cold wasn’t too much fun. Hot shoes for sure!

Honestly, I was never feelin’ the Doernbecher VI but I am about supporting the cause. I got a pair of the Makayla Skinny Dunks cuz I think it’s a beautiful piece of art and imo the best designed shoe out of the whole line and I copped the Collin P-Rods cuz I think Blue Camo is kinda nice and it’s a “Doernbecher” P-Rod.

I ordered my Doernbecher 6s at about 11:20 on friday by using a link that was posted on nice kicks a couple of weeks ago when the shoes were posted on the Nike website but then were taken off. I checked on the site again at about 12:15 and the only sizes left were 16,17, and 18

Props to those who got a pair at Lennox, I BARELY, got a pair… I knew of no list though.. Now, I do.. Props to Mr. Madison and his crew, but the way the offer came to me was in a threat, instead of “what you got to lose” as someone mentioned above.. I roll solo.. Dont need a crew, but I see how things go in the ATL on these releases.. If i knew then what I know now, I would of signed that list.. Im down.

I was one of the many people outside NIKE Sportswear Saturday morning. I def copped my pair of Doernbecher VIs. These kicks are so sweet. When I got to the store at like 9 am, there was nine people outside including myself. After about a 2hr wait, the amount of people grew to about 60-70. Fortunately and surprisingly enough, the store had a huge stock of the Doernbecher VIs so everybody pretty much got their size.

It wasn’t even cold when we showed up! That’s how early we got there! So you couldn’t have been first. We were in the mall on Thursday and they sent us home! Once again you couldn’t have been there before us. The manager asked us if we could to make things as simple as possible. I wanted to get them online the night before, but i was reloading the wrong pages!
I had to wake up around 7 to make it to the niketown door by 9, which i didn’t want to do, and noticed that there was no line or crowd and people were coming down the streets with shoes already!!
I didn’t know that the pacquiao’s were releasing the same day and that niketown was opening early for that. I also didn’t know, what time niketown opened cause the website wouldn’t load the niketown locations link so i couldn’t get the official hours of operation. Also, people were allowed to buy the VI’s early if they wanted. When i got there, they closed up shop at 9 to open again at 10. So, i waited patiently with a few other guys.
I got them, just like the first jordan DB II’s i own, under the radar charity jordan’s are some of the best color ways, materials, quality retros ever!
