Doernbecher Nike SB P-Rod 3

As we get closer to the official release date of this years Doernbecher x Nike release, we picked up a few detailed images for your viewing pleaseure of the Nike SB P-Rod 3. The shoe was designed by Colin Callsen, a patient at the Doernbecher Hospital suffering from Burkitt’s Iymphoma.
Choosing the P-Rod 3 as the silhouete to tell his story, the first time an SB model was chosen for the charity release. The P-Rod 3 is decked in a white/navy color scheme with a bevy of details intracately placed on the upper. Motocross joined with skulls and camo are the primary subjects which are represented on the patent leather toe cap, and insole.
First shots of the shoe revealed a blue camo swoosh with white leather backing but these new pics reveal a navy swoosh and blue camo backing instead. Account availability will be to select Nike Towns and Nike concept stores much like the the previous releases. Retail will be $95 and the release date is set on November 14th.

I like the look of this shoe. I dig the camouflage, and the dirt bikes on it, and the color scheme is great, really. Skulls on a sneaker though. Normally cool, but since it’s a charity shoe made by someone who has what sounds like a serious disease. Probably not the best graphic they could have chosen for the in sole. I’d be interested in the shoe anyway though.
Awesome idea for the kids, but not feeling these.
Back in H.S. (’93) we had a summer youth program, where we worked for 4 hrs & went to school for 4 hrs, all paid for. Did it all 4 summers str8….had the time of my life. Minimum wage wuz $4.25/hr, but the value of a dollar wuz worth way more then, than today’s standard now. Anyhow, I wuz assigned to work @ a retirement home doin maintenance. Well 1 day I decided to wear my Cypress Hill tee shirt – Black Sunday….it had a skull in the back & a big mural of a cemetery in the front. By any means it wuz nothin intentional on my part I wuz just a kid bein hip & trendy @ the time. Came lunchtime, they let me have “Look here son, you can’t be wearin this type of material around here….the residents don’t wanna be reminded.” Selfish & didn’t pay any attention to my own surroundin.

Not a fan of Doernbecher.
boooooooo!
I think it’s BS that Nike doesn’t make the P-Rod SB shoes in sizes any bigger than 13. People with big feet get no love!!!
I think that this is a wonderful way to generate funds for the children that are going through more than a lot of us have ever gone through in our whole lives!! And to be able for one of the kids to be able to design a shoe for “Nike,” (Tell me what you have designed?)with all of there hobbies and interest, I think that is quite an accomplishment. Way to go Collin!!!
Yo Collin: Outstanding design…As a former Art Teacher you have put it all together. For a young person who has experienced the threat of a serious illness and the possibility of death (life is short and one needs to enjoy it to the fullest!) with the use of a skull is excellent. The other componets – dirt bikes and camo make this an excellent shoe for active young people (skateboarders, BMX riders and motocross participants)! You have shown people what you are made of. You have the heart of a lion and the will that won’t let you quit….Congradulations on a job will done.
i think my surpas kill off these sbs that noone could skate
