Dwyane Wade Leaves Converse for Jordan Brand
Nike has officially announced that Dwayne “Flash” Wade will be leaving the All-Star brand to join an all-star team at Jordan Brand. The Miami Heat Hero was quoted by the Associated Press by saying ” I didn’t want to be in the Converse brand anymore because it seemed like they didn’t know what to do with me,” today at the press conference. It seemed that change was on the rise for Flash as he baited the world on upcoming good news the night before via Twitter by saying “good news is coming….stay tuned”. Some may not like the switch and others may say D. Wade’s career is about to Heat up. Now that the cat is out the bag, we hope samples of his JB shoe will be the next to follow. How do you feel about Dwyane’s new move?

This isn’t really a big surprise. I love Converse, but they were throwing his name on some of the ugliest sneakers ever conceived. I wonder if that “Wade 5″ will still be called that. Converse needs to hire some new designers for signature shoes anyway, because the fact of the matter is that the only thing that seems to be moving forward for them are the skate shoes. Yes, we have the Converse Weapon Evo to look forward to this Fall but it isn’t enough. Converse is capable of making decent shoes (for instance, the 0100 was pretty nice, and I have a pair.) They’ve just been moving away from basketball lately. I wonder who Converse will sign next.
Excellent move, not only if AI hadnt signed that God awful Reebok lifetime deal. Converse prolly could careless and will probably be rolled into Nike by 2012

Melo (pick one), CP I & II, Jordan 09, Jumpman 09…There hasn’t been a good Jordan shoe since the Spiz’ike and that was a mash up that couldn’t go wrong! Yeah! I’m excited for the next Flight 45 DW3 PE or the Pop Herring D. Wade special!
@Feets…How could you forget the 23s? As long as the potential for a shoe like the 23 to be made again (in terms of being a good shoe)…then the verdict is still out. I’m excited about the “possibilities”. The end result will of course be revisited (on OSD Weds @9:30 PM EST) LOL…Shameless PLug!
Perhaps D-Wade is the new Air Jordan shoe “wearer” if you will, he might possibly wear the Jordan 2010 first then anyone else, I could see him overshadowing Ray Allen too.
I always saw Ray Allen wearing the newest and lates Js, but D-Wade could be taking his place.
After seeing the pic of D-Wade over the Jordan Logo, that’s just the feeling that I got…! Anyone agree with me…? D-Wade will be the next MJ… shoe wearer that is.

The way I see it, if he was that unhappy with the shoes they designed for him, then he should have said something to Converse about it. With a little input his footwear line could have really been something great. But that’s not the case, and I was reading on the Converse blog that all future Wade products have been axed. From the standpoint of a fan of Converse, I can say honestly that I don’t have any Wades because I always found them ugly. But even so, when someone doesn’t honor their contract that doesn’t sit right with me. He should have finished his remaining 3 years.
Paper Chaser —- 23s don’t factor into the equation because that was a Tinker deal! Tinker was brought back by special request to do something that would spark sales, however, the 23 wasn’t a great selling shoe either. Hype sold the limited releases and the three pack is still available at retail. The only reason those shoes aren’t more available is because they were only offered in limited quantities. But I ask you what about the Toro Bravo’s or the 22/1 or the 8/15 or the 14/9 or the…..get my drift???
