Gourmet Summer 2008 Footwear Line Up
Even though we have never reported on Gourmet until now, surely you’ve seen or at least heard about the kicks that favor Jordans. Gourmet released their first collection last year, and they will release more footwear in 2008. They will drop some bright canvas colors for the heated Summer days as well as some simple hues. yeah they are ok but it reminds me so much of MADFOOT just a total idea jock
sure they are paying homage but why not come up with a model that somewhat resembles the jordans and put them in OG colorways, but i know nothing in fashion is original, but DAMN they wasn’t even any thinking going on here. it looks like all they did was take jordan silhouettes put canvas on them and put on a thin white wall sole on them
so i guess i’m saying all this to say i kind of like them but just wish they were a TAD more original, just a little

Kidmagnifacent took the words right outta my mouth. When i saw dis shit on pickyourshoes i said, “Oh hell naw! That shit is garbage juice!” Bad enough i dont accept any other Jordan besides a roman numeral retro & with Carmelos i sometimes make an exception. The only shoe of his i made an exception on is the 5.5, other than that his shit is unacceptable. I cant believe dis shit, did someone just spit on me?

Well considering that these guys think they are someone in the streetwear game i would normally give them a pass but i know these guys who started this are some sucker type wana be successful cats that think they are so talented and knock everyone else for tryin to make some bread and then they come out and do this? All they did was send a sample of a jordan to the factory and tell them make it in canvas and because we cant afford to make a mold just make it vulcanized. i hope they didnt quit their day jobs at pro keds cuz this aint gona last!!!

i dont own hella pairs of kicks.i buy what i like.plus not everyone can buy all the newest Js or the newest SBs. but like i was saying i do LOVE kicks i love jordans&dunks.
i was checkin out pickyourshoes.com and i saw these on the homepage and i just thought they came out with retro urbanized versions of Js but i was surprised to see it was some other company. Personally and i hope nobody gonna count this against me but i do like these shoes because i like jordans. if i could id wear my cardinals with every thing but fact of the matter is my cardinals dont go with every thing i wear. im not hatin on the colorways of Js…they dopest around.
i just think that instead of showing hate at this company tryna bring a new look to a classic i think yall should embrace it. THESE ARE STRAIGHT UP LOOK-EXACT-A-LIKES but since they look like the jordans you truly adore then give the company props to bringing you some brand new kicks.
hypothetically speaking….lets say MJ himself…lets say he wore these in public…then everyone would have a different look on it.or maybe if MJ wore these before the company even went public and had no relation to nike or the air jordan brand.. everybody would have a different look. i respect all your opinions&views but give these guys a chance.

I personally like these shoes. I understand the argument that they are biting J’s super hard, but the fusion between the Jordan body and the Vans sole works well in my opinion. These have a clean look, and can be pulled off with all kinds of different fits. I’ll cop a pair and check em out.

i understand these are knockoffs…..but ive never been a jordan head. and the beauty of these……..if u see someone wit them…they dont need a jordan logo, they appreciate the style….its “anti jordan” and i think only the flyest and the bravest can pull them off or else they are hated on hard………
gourmets are pop culture icons to me…….(not to sound like a historian here) but think about it………these sneakers are stripped down to plain canvas and 1 colorway……it says, i dont need a logo, a brand name, a crazy colorway…….I RESPECT THE SNEAKER……
I have to say that I like the sneaker but thats just me….you kno im not a sneakerhead…i just like anything different….but it all comes down to the consumer…..theres a high percentage of sneakerheads who would go against the shoe because they feel that its a ripp off……and the other half sees the “beauty” in paying respect to jay’s….you know……But im glad there’s some true sneaker heads still around……at first i thought you guys were a dieing breed……I’m sick and Tired of those people who think buying everyone of the lasted Retro Jay’s and footlocker dunks and just because they shopped in Soho think they “sneakerheads” like seriously they need to do they homework……ya digg

idk man…its a tricky one, cuz i could easily call each jordan they copied, which upsets me. I definitely like the classic and more u kno suddle look for athletic sneakers which are usually flashy. These would definitely be more liked if they were taken under the wing of nike and air jordan, u kno, like JORDAN GOURMETS, because i actually like them, they are no doubt attractive, and if gourmet signed a deal with jordan there wud be crazy hype about these, because these are truly attractive. The pricing issue is a whole other story. Idk bout other places but pickyourshoes.com has them for 100.00 i mean thats fine, i wud be feeling 70 ish but i’d pay 100 for some i rly like. I only wonder if they attempt to do this with other companies as well, like trying to hit up on nike dunks or puma baskets. Overall, i wudnt deny these ever, but they need to rethink their strategy.

I’m really feeling these shoes I got every pair of j’s ever made but I like trying differnets shyt 2 don’t like sticking 2 the basic like when ed hardy came out I was on dat b4 everyone started getting into ed hardy but I like the kicks I own 2 pair of em and bought some shirts they made gourmet a nice clothing line and the shoes hot no doubt about it My attitude is if u a fresh as nigga u can make anything look fresh ya dig thats where my mind set is fuk the name brand shyt if u fresh and got that swagga it won’t matta so I fucks wit gourmet

Im not gonna lie, when i first saw them a while back i thought oh no, but now they have really started to grow on me< i love the 7′s and the 11′s. i think it is an interesting spin on a classic shoe. i wouldnt at all call them fakes because that is not what they are going for, i think they make great shoes i can wear to the office on casual friday with some khaki pants and a Polo. i definatly would lower the price though, 100 and up is kinda high for some canvis kicks
LMMFAO! first off, i love how damn near everyone on here writes like a dyslexic 12 year old. lol. sorry everyone, its just funny. (thats why they created spellcheck) but let’s not forget the reason we’re all here-the sneakers… i just want to say that as a sneakerhead, i respect the Gourmet line. people come out with something new every day. note that i said new, not necissarily original. honestly, they cost too damn much for a canvas shoe an for that reason alone, you won’t see ‘em on my feet. but you have to admit that if you saw MJ rockin’ a pair of these, we wouldn’t be having these conversations… and i feel like people aren’t exactly giving credit where credit is due. MJ didn’t actually design his sneakers. it wasn’t until the creation of the Jordan III when Tinker Hatfield stepped in and actually asked for Jordan’s input. after that, Hatfield designed all of the Jordans up to the XV with the help of Michael. i only bring that up because of people’s constant adoration of Michael Jordan. i love his sneakers, but let’s be real; the man isn’t payin my bills. in fact; with all of the Jordans purchased by sneakerheads like me, we’ve probably paid his bills ten times over. lol. (not to mention that we helped him pay Juanita over $150 mil. sucks for him….) overall, i vote yes on the sneakers (Gourmets) wouldn’t pay that price though.
