Is the Converse Wade 4 that ugly? Word is Dwyane Wade hasn’t been wearing his latest Converse signature shoe this season, the Wade 4. Darren Rovell of CNBC reports that Dwyane has yet to wear the Wade 4 this season, and Wade’s agent Henry Thomas said it’s highly likely that he won’t put the new model on his feet for the rest of the season. Thomas also confirmed that Dwyane is rocking the Wade 1 this season instead of the 4′s. Converse confirmed that they will re-release the Wade 1 in limited numbers starting next month since the Wade 4′s clearly aren’t selling well (sales are off 50% compared to last year).
“He wears the 1′s because he really liked them,” Thomas said. “And Given that he was playing in the Olympics, he was preoccupied this past summer, so he didn’t have the chance that he and Converse wanted to get used to his new shoes.”

the wade 4′s are ugly but that doesn’t give d a reason not to wear them. sounds fishy to me.

Yes they are that ugly. I’ve been saying it since the beggining, DWade deserves the best, he is Nike-deal caliber. Nike, stop letting the red-headed step child of the family keep doing DWade like this, hook him up right!

Wade should march in to the Converse office and demand that get moved to the Nike Division or else. It’s sad because this good of a player shouldn’t have such a horrible looking shoe.
Wade’s are terrible shoes, even at an outlet store they’re still overpriced. It just feels so cheaply made and the design is very banal. I have nothing against Converse, but its time they got their act together and came out with something serious.

Yes, they are that ugly. Did Cons sign D.Wade before or after Nike bought them?? I dont know why nike wont go ahead and bring D. Wade over. Why continue to make that man wear Cons(unless D. Wade wants to, or something), when they could just slap a swoosh on em and watch them fly off of shelves.
YES… they ARE that Ugly! NO moving the star doesn’t help! Beer Goggles don’t help (for the record I don’t drink… to avoid buying ugly shoes)… nothing helps! Shouldn’t a player require to approve a shoe bearing their name? The WADE 2.0 is the best design they’ve ever put out and that’s only because they’re clearly an Iverson knock-off (and the Iverson line by in large is crapola as well… so I guess I’m not saying much). Maybe he and CP are in cahoots against wearing their own sig’s?
Only converse I wear is Chucks, point blank! I’d rather wear them Jason Kidds than them Dwade 4′s. At least give him some react juice!!!
Yeah they are not the best looking shoes. But he plays ball for a check. So he plays in what’s comfortable, they might not be as comfortable as the 1s
i’m guessing d. wade doesn’t get to sign off on his sneakers before they’re released or didn’t because he was busy with the redeem team.

The Wade 4 is ugly, just like many Converse shoes designed after Nike took ownership in 2001. I’ve tried out some Wades, and they’re not too comfortable either. Overall, a lousy series of shoes.
