It’s Official: Blake Griffin Joins Jordan Brand

November 2, 2012 | 10

Blake Griffin was spotted wearing the Jordan Super.Fly in Wednesday night’s Cippers game. One could only assume Blake signed to Jordan Brand, but no official announcement was made… until now. Nike, Inc. just confirmed that Blake Griffin officially signed to Jordan Brand.

Red Nike’s announcement below:

Today, Jordan Brand, a division of NIKE, Inc., officially announced that two-time NBA All-Star Blake Griffin has joined the brand. Griffin joins Russell Westbrook and rookies Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kendall Marshall, Jared Sullinger and Jeff Taylor as new members to the Jordan family for the upcoming season.

“We are thrilled that Blake is joining the brand,” said Michael Jordan. “Blake has captured the essence of what the brand stands for through his style of play and love for the game of basketball. He is an amazing athlete and person who we look forward to working with for many years.”

Griffin, who debuted the Jordan Super.Fly on Wednesday, will continue to wear the product throughout the season.

No specific details regarding Blake Griffin’s Jordan shoe contract was released.

Looking forward to seeing what Jordan Brand does with Blake Griffin and Westbrook. That’s two good looks for them. Two young and explosive players join Team Jordan.

horrible mistake by Blake Griffin. JB will do nothing for him.

there is ups and downs to this for Blake! the upside is JB makes great quality high performance basketball sneakers. they are more consistance then NIKE. I think the super fly and the jordan 2012 are great on court sneakers BUT they down side is they arnt popular and they dont sell unless people you them for balling not to rock. mainly becuase people are so stuck on the shitty retros! its they they are chasing somthing they missed out on years ago when the newer jordans are better QUALITY wise anyway

He needs to do a Ray Allen and get PE’s..

the only thing Jordan Brand ever got right was the first OG Air Jordan releases. After that, nothing has been impactful. Melos, Wades, CP3s, and hybrids have all been trash. The brand survives on milking poorly made retros, and watering down their brand with various affordable releases.

Will Blake make a difference? No. The same uncreative cows who worked in failing to make a Wade shoe appealing will be transferred over to team black/white/ginger.

the new performance stuff from Jordan brand is great. performance wise i take the flywade 2s or the melo 8 over the Lebron 9, kobe 7 and kd 4. the Lebron 10 is awsome but to me JB is more consistant with there hooping shoes. onlything that is trash is the way they look and in that sense it means everything for a sneaker to sell. I think JB just needs to stop with the retros cz they are garbage and they are taking away from the real perfomance sneakers like the superFLY

It would be interesting to see a Blake Griffin sneaker… As long as it, yanno, strays away from the typical “traditional” look…

As long as retro keep dropping anything outside of that won’t move units. The spizikes are probably the exception. If I were Blake I’d alternate between the superfly and PE like ray allen does.

Dat boy sek got a point. Keep blake griffin in super.fly’s and p.e.’s. I get not wanting other jb sigs to look like the flagship aj’s. But do theuneed 2 look like the trashy team jordans?

Hopefully the shoes help him make a free throw.
