Jason Mayden is the man behind the Air Jordan 2009 and in this interview he talks about the beginning stages of being asked to design the Air Jordan 2009 to the details of the shoe. One things for sure, the buzz for the Air Jordan 2009 is very weak compared to the Air Jordan XX3.

Design is just plain ugly. Only way I will respect these shoes is if they turn out to be a really amazing basketball shoe. Like just give a great performance on the court. But aestetically these are ugly

Great for balling and If someone is a true Jordan Head for collection but that’s about it.

Impressed by the technology… not so much by the design. Really UNIMPRESSED at the price! The documentary stuff adds some more appreciation and will help us all reconsider the 2009. The Dvd that came with the XX3 got played 3x in a row when I cracked the box! I respect the process!
this shoe can’t ever be mentioned in the same breathe as the xx3…
Not sure you can really stack rank these with OG Jays…Jordans as we know them are dead..hence the RIP of numbers… now the years…These 2009’s are nothing more then hyped Team Jordan sneakers…whats the difference???? He’s how you can tell what it really is all about, aparently there is supposed to be another limited drop on the 31st of January much like last years Titianiums and Bred..if real sneakershead line up not just resellers then maybe these can work…if no one shows…RIP Jordans….long live Team Jordans and Jordan Brand…
Kicks are wack btw…maybe good performence kicks, like alot of the team jordans are…but $230 (limited) and $190 (regular) is just stupid…

im not gona lie…i am liking them mor and mor every time i see them. im still not sold on um tho. but wen i very 1st saw the XX’s i thot they wer the ugliest, stupidest jordans ever but now i love them. if these look better in person and are suuuuper comfortable then i may really like them. rite now its a no/not really. but i like some aspects of the shoe so the potential cop is there
Probably comfortable 2 pay ball in, but not that good looking of a shoe. They should have gotten Tinker Hatfeild 2 design them. Plus they’re 2 expensive!!!

these kicks havent won me over yet, i have to see more colors 1st before i can make a final opinion. the colorway that is on the pic looks way too plain, i gotta see different colors!!

i’m beginning to like them, but i’m not buying them. they look nice and i’m sure the NBA players with team Jordan will be rocking these and performing better on the court. then maybe Mike Bibby won’t miss anymore open lay-ups

My days of rocking J’s casually are done. Based on the video and the description of the shoe, I might ball in these but no way for $190 I’m sorry. I’d pay $100 though.

the price is too steep for me to cop em, but if they were like 150 I would cop em.
I still don’t like these. They show a sweet sketch @ 0:29 of a prototype/brainstorm (the yellow one), then they show the actual product @ 0:32, and it looks weak. The sketch looks sharp, with sharp edges, and cutting lines…the actual AJ @ 0:32 looks all bulky, big, fat, round…it looked way better on paper.
I don’t like these at all.
I already got mine in white and black..I ordered them straight from the Michael Jordan factory in China…Only $38 a pair. Good luck to everyone waiting for these to drop in the states for $200+ Suckers!!!

Now i can see myself buying these specifically for the basketball aspect of things and this is a b-ball shoe, its not meant to be a ls streetwear stylish shoe. THese are for the court…now im sure i’ve said i dont like em specifically because of the price because thats 2 damn high 4 a b-ball shoe thats not all that pleasing to the eye compared to a air penny foamposite which is something well worth paying 4 presentation and performance wise…maybe these are a wait and see type of thing but 4 me i wouldnt pound the pavement in these, strictly hardwood.

I predict sales of these Jordans will be weak, I’m not impressed. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still get a pair and try them out on the court, but if they dont live up to the hype, I won’t keep them.
If the design and technology of the XX3 was so good then why didnt they keep using some of those same ideas and concepts?

Sad news for the sneakerheads! $240 for the first round of Air Jordan 2009, it’s just plain crazy!! Air Jordan line has been sucessful because of designer’s like Tinker Hatfield. Tinker Hatfield has designed the sickest shoes and to see some elementary designe like this Air Jordan 2009 is just sad news. Scary to see what the Air Jordan 2010 will look like if it get’s it’s inspiration from this 2009 descrase. The Interview sounds good but it just doesn’t go with this shoe.
So bumbed about this shoe, i can’t even spell
