Kevin Garnett Leaves adidas for ANTA
We’re not “pump faking” you! It seems that KG has been giving all the major the brands the ol’ give and go routine just after a few running seasons. From high school he was with Nike for five years, then on to AND1 for two, and presently adidas, at least until the end of the season.
ANTA has now confirmed a deal with Kevin Garnett with the details of this contract yet to be revealed. Chinese based brand, ANTA must have thrown the Celtics forward a wonderful alley of cash to leave the 3-stripes.
In fact we all may have thought the relationship between adiO and KG was promising after the former adidas Basketball Public Relations Manager Travis Gonzolez had this to say of the deal, “[adidas Basketball is] actually looking for Kevin to wear our shoes not only during his playing career but driving our basketball business long after his career on the court ” (PORTLAND, Ore. [AP]).
We can only hope that this brand will be able to keep the fickle Celtics powerhouse tied down longer than the other brands as well as enhance the player’s game also. With Chinese footwear companies on the rise such as PEAK, Li-Ning, and now ANTA are running a growing zone defense against the major footwear brands with NBA contracts.

KG seriously? Homie I hope you are making a decision based on a quality aspect and not the money. Gotta take care of the feet man… Thats big homie though so I’m sure he’s got a plan. OBF!
It’s obvious it’s about the money and personal attention right now but I feel he should have stayed with Nike or Adidas. They are the two major players in the shoe game and they both gave him some form of personal attention for his shoes. Oh well, he knows why and that’s all that matters in the end.

I hope folks are sacraficing quality and comfort for the cance to have a signature shoe and some cash. Like MT said you gotta watch out for the feet (Yao). I agree with Hye Style, Nike KG were the best of the bunch!
Wow, I bet he’ll go right back to Adidas. Chinese kicks are ugly for the most part. His best kicks are the Air Garnett III, and the Adidas Supernatural Commander. I have both.

It’s a sign of the end for KG! All the geriatric and mid-level players are doing it! Sorry ANTA, he’s not going to carry you into any sort of sneaker status that your marketing department is hoping for. Neither will J-Kidd, Shaq, Baron Davis, Joaquin Noah, Ron Artest, blah blah blah… on and on!

Y’all got to understand, this is an endorsement deal, not a personal preference deal. Every last one of you would take the bigger deal. But, in his spare time, do you think he is not wearing Nike’s? It’s hard to shine on Nike with so many players in the league wearing Nike’s.

Anta, I know these companies are trying to come up but when you don’t make your shoes available to the people that are your spokeman’s audience then of course everyone goint to think you suck.
You don’t overthrow Nike by only making shoes for NBA players. On a personal note, I’m quite interested in the technology they use in the sneakers.
KG should have never left Nike, every shoe they made for him was a classic!! every one!!

i dont have problem with him leaving for the money, especially wack azz adidas. but at least the company has to make dope shoes, and Nike was the only one to do that for him!!!

I think he should stay with Adidas. Even though I’ve only had one pair, in the 8th grade, they make a quality balling shoe with the latest in tech. To move to a company without testing the limits of it’s product would be a lapse in judgement.
