Michael Jordan Day (Hall of Fame)
NO DISRESPECT TO 9/11, but today is Michael Jordan Day in the sneaker community. Don’t have a hissy fit, just understand that today we want to pay homage to the guy that changed the game of basketball, and the shoe game. Today is MJ’s BIG day, and you can witness his induction tonight on ESPN.
Now that we cleared the air, this post is dedicated to MJ’s Hall of Fame induction. Feel free to discuss all things Michael “Air” Jordan in the comments. Favorite moment from MJ’s career, first pair of Air Jordans, favorite J’s, how MJ influenced you, or anything positive you wish to say about the G.O.A.T.

To many of us, Michael Jordan is more than sneakers. He was the guy that most tuned into from October and into late June every basketball season. You knew he was going to put on a show even in the worst of situations (sick games). We knew him as a winner on and off the court. If you were a fan of MJ of course you were a fan of the sneakers he donned brand new for home and away games, not to forget playoff, home and away games. Michael played the game in a way many of us would mimic all the time. I know growing up each neighborhood was filled with people that wanted to be the next MJ, but like MJ said himself, today there will be no next Michael Jordan. So, today we honor the greatest to ever play the game. Thank You Michael for all you have given to the game and to the culture. – Zorro

Thanks Mike!!..I remember my first pair of J’s..My mom took me to J.C.Penney and bought me a pair of White/Grey SKY Jordan 1′s..I was about 7 years old and even then I knew I had to have a pair of J’s..And I remember the first time I saw MJ play..My dad told me to come sit with him on the couch and watch a Bulls game and said, “Watch this guy, he’s the best I’ve ever seen.”..

I had the aqua 8′s when they first came out, then the 9′s and then the concord 11′s, J’s were and still are expensive so back then my mom wouldn’t buy me any unless they was on sale or I deserved it.
my first pair of js since i am a supre rookie in the shoe game was actually a pair of the 09 release of the 1 HARES….i waited 11 hrs in line (it was also my first camp)..and yeah my mommy got them for me..only i had to stay in line was the deal…when i got the last pair of size 9s in the store and i knew that there was at least 7 cats behinde be that wanted that size…lets just say I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SHOE GAME ON APRIL 11TH 2009….a one lover to death…and a jordan sneaker head hopefully beyond that…..

my first jordan’s were the 5′s 23′s white/red and a hint of black in the 23 and the tongue and sole. when they came out again 2 years ago I got them very quick! to start off i would just like to say i wish i was older!! i never got to see MJ play as a bull or a wizard!! but watching videos on youtube and flashbacks on ESPN has inspired me to be the best i can be. im only 17 and not exactly new to the shoe game but boy do i wish i was older to watch MJ play and to have some OG 6s LOL

my first j’s were retro air jordan 1 black toes, since then mike has been truly an inspiration. even though im only 18 and never got the chance to see him play live, i’ve watched almost every video. they always make me appreciate the game more, just because of the way he played and approached it.

Im 33 and i remember seeing MJ play those battles and frustration vs the Detroit Bad Boys back on late 80′s.My first pair of Jordans were the IV Black/Red.I remember not spending the money that my parents ever day give me to lunch…that way i coop those baby.Then the Fired red V’S,VI’S Infrared,so on…..Never coop the IX and X (Don’t like it at that time) But the XI i coop they in every color way….MJ is the father of Kobe and Lebron.Also the new version of Dr J…..SO HE IS GOING TO BE THE BEST EVER….

I’m sure I couldn’t say anything that hasn’t already been said, and I wouldn’t even dream of trying. I’m a Sixers fan by location but, NOTHING in the sport of basketball would be what it is today, if it wasn’t for Michael Jordan. From the games, to the kicks to the rings, MJ defined class. Absolutely nothing but respect for the greatest of all time. 23!
