Michael Vick is officially re-signed to Nike. After terminating Vick’s Nike contract in August 2007, Nike welcomes Mike Vick back to the family. Nike is letting the past be the past by re-signing Vick to a new endorsement deal.
“Michael acknowledges his past mistakes,” said Nike spokesman Derek Kent. “We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field.”
When Vick returned to the NFL, Nike was supplying Vick with free products, but he was not getting paid to endorse the Swoosh. That’s no longer the case since Nike re-signed Vick. However, the financial amount of the deal was not disclosed. If you recall, Nike dropped Vick right before the launch of the Zoom Vick V. One can only assume that Nike will eventually introduce a new Vick signature shoe line. However, Nike officials didn’t disclose what exactly they will do with Vick. Only time will tell what Nike and Vick have planned for the world.
It’s official: Mike Vick is back with Nike.
