NBA On TNT Nike Hyperdunk Supreme – Release Info
Ted Turner’s Atlanta based company TNT is a proud sponser of the NBA. Nike created a super limited Hyperdunk featuring mugs of Ernie Johnson, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, and Sir Charles Barkley which is seen on the tongue. We should mention this is an Atlanta Lenox Mall exclusive, and it’s lmited to 48 pairs. The TNT Hyperdunk Supreme will release this Thursday, October 30th. More info after the jump.
Everyone’s favorite television crew is back at it again this season, and Nike is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of TNT’s NBA telecasts with a limited edition Nike Hyperdunk Supreme. Featuring the mugs of Ernie Johnson, Kenny “The Jet” Smith and of course Sir Charles Barkley along the tongue tag, this Hyperdunk Supreme incorporates the show’s set colors of black, radiant blue and infrared. As you may recall, the team surely helped out in generating some massive hype around the debut of the Hyperdunk late last spring, when Kobe Bryant showcased them in back-to-back games at the Staples Center with a series of viral videos to follow. With a black patent leather toe, eyestay and collar, and a vibrant shade of blue along the laces, Swoosh, and heel and midfoot wedges, the shoe is also set off by infrared accents along the ankle and tongue as well as the outsole.
The shoe will be exclusive to Atlanta’s Lenox Square Mall Nike Store and will be releasing this Thursday, October 30th to help kick off the ‘NBA on TNT’s season opening double-header lineup that will feature the Rockets vs. Mavericks and Suns vs. Hornets. The ‘NBA On TNT’ Hyperdunk Supreme will be limited to just 48 pairs in Atlanta, where TNT’s studios are located and the show takes place, and be on the lookout for plenty of sneaker chatter this Thursday, with rookie addition to the staff Chris Webber likely feeling left out. Well since Adidas has all the NBA licensing locked up Nike has to do whatever they can to get in the NBA prime time spotlight outside of regular paid advertisements. This is like viral marketing in a way, get the kids hyped on a shoe, and keep them hyped on a game that is the reason for the shoes in the first place. You hear me all you reselling hypebeast campers with no court game? If you don’t ball in your shoes you are not a baller, just a hypebeast child waiting in line like the rest of the blind mice.
