New Balance 574 “Clips” – Detailed Pics

So, what does a shoe company do with premium leftover material? If you said “Use it to make some more shoes.”, than you are correct. New Balance decided to make something special out of their popular NB 574 model this year. Plain and simple, they call it “Clips“. It’s a new campaign for the USA, from New Balance, to show it’s dedication to the states with it’s superior shoe quality.
With the left over material from New Balance models “993″ and “996″, they have constructed what they call “Clips” (left over materiel is usually called scraps or clips). New Balance took the remaining buttery smooth pigskin clips (no cow hide here buddy) from the “993″ model for the upper and micro denier for the lining from the same model. The “996″ came in with some surplus mesh for the toebox, tongue and outer ankle collar. Then it adds a PU insole to help distribute the weight of your body evenly. All these materials come from their NB factory in Lawrence, MA.
There are four different make ups for this extremely limited shoe coming in only 480 pairs worldwide (120 each color). All have a Grey upper with just the mesh and embroidered USA on the heel, with the New Balance logo, in Blue, Maroon, Green, and Orange. Each shoe also comes packaged with a Polaroid inside the box. On the back of the Polaroid there is a special number specific to each shoe. Go the NB 574 Clips website and match it up with 1 of the 480 online photos. When you do that, it will display a video specific to that shoe about it’s birth (the videos were all shot throughout the US in locations like New York City, L.A., and Massachusetts). The unique thing about this is that after it’s viewed and claimed by the owner, his/her name will appear on the video.
The 574 Clips will retail for $75.00 and will be available at these top ten retailers; Reed Space in NYC, Undefeated in LA, Bodega in Boston, Goods in Seattle, St. Alfreds in Chicago, Premium Goods in Houston, Shoe Gallery in Miami, Burn Rubber in Royal Oak, Sole Boutique in San Antonio and Commonwealth in DC.
The Polaroids!

On the back of the heel you will see USA embroidered and the tongue will have “Made in the USA“.
