Nike 1/2 Cent – March 2009 Release
Penny Hardaway was recently featured on the cover of Sole Collector magazine with the Air Penny hybrid aka 1/2 Cent. Last year we posted some awesome images of the 1/2 Cent and now official Nike images have hit the web. These images reveal more details that we haven’t seen until now. A detailed look at the sole can be seen after the jump. In case you’re wondering about Lil Penny, he’s also featured on the Foamposite-ish sole. Air Penny fans take note that the Nike 1/2 will be a limited drop in March retailing for $190.

These are cool but the sum is not greater than it’s parts. Each Penny that has been incorporated into this shoe is better in it’s original form than this shoe itself. I’d probably get them if they were a general release and $135 but it’s not worth the trouble or the $190 price tag in my opinion.
These are nice. I love Pennys, always have, but $190 seems a little too steep. I have to see them in person 1st…i dunno.

Does foamposite technology really cost so much that Nike has to pass it on to the consumer? We all know there’s an insane mark up anyway… $190 is way too much and if I’m spending the coin it’s on the Eggplants!

Just don’t get the penny collection thing… foamposites are a given, but the rest… I just don’t get it. Maybe if I balled in them I would understand- but based on looks alone, I don’t quite get it. And it’s defintely not a legacy thing… That being said, these for $190. Maybe in 2019…. not in 2009.

ummmm besides the spizikes i normally shy awa from hybrids…but after hearing good things from some friends up on campus and seeing more and more pics these joints are looking real mean IMO…..they might get copped. lol
