Tinker Hatfield made history in 1987 when he introduced the Air Max 1 to the footwear industry. The Air Max 1 was born in ’87, and Tinker also gave birth to the Air Safari that same year (word to Biz Markie!). This classic sneaker is responsible for the safari print you see on sneakers today.
Nike hit us with a retro back in 2003, and today we are pleased to report that the Air Safari will return this Holiday season. How did this news stay under the radar this long? Who knows, but two colors of the Air Safari will drop this Holiday season including the original makeup. Props to SneakersBR for the heads up.

ugly
Lame sauce, two packets.
The first one looks like Reese’s cups. The second one is just boring. Both have an ugly toe/heel cover. That automatically makes the shoe ugly. Although the second one isn’t as bad as the first one.
I am gonna cop the first one’s to replace the ones I have now, but I wish it didn’t have the yel1ow stitching.
I respect the OG’s..but that yellow piping that they put on them makes them look like bad knock offs…
^Word
I’m dying that Yella Ish right the Eff outta there!
Yall are crazy, I love safari 87s. Im actually wearing my beige and red-orange ones right now. I’ll cop the 2nd ones, not so much the first. Does look kinda like a reeses
i always wondered why these were so big, i jus figured they’re not my thing. to each his own tho..
not even close to OG. ankle padding should be safari. safari print should be more than. Orange color is too vibrant, almost red like. it should be a rugged outdoor orange color. Yellow contrast stitching is terrible.. WHAT IS NIKE DOING HERE? They butchered this shoe. The 3-4 retro colorways in 2003-2005 were stellar. These lack attention to detail
Don’t think this is a retro of the OG colour-way at all tbh.
.
Think its a new colour-way, just to different to the OG to compar, Orange is a completly different shade, yellow stiching etc
IS NOTHING SACRED?!?!?!
