Nike Air Zoom Flight ‘95 Retro Info

Nike Air Zoom Flight 95

The Air Zoom Flight first hit the scene back in 1995, which clearly explains why the ‘95 was attached to the name. During that time period Jason Kidd was known for rocking several Zoom Flights including the Zoom Flight 95. At the time it would have been appropriate for Nike to name them Air Zoom Kidd Flight, but they didn’t. Instead they went with Air Zoom Flight and due to the carbon fiber pods people immediately started referring to them as “Bug Eyes”. The design was something new to Nike’s footwear line and the advanced technolgy raised the bar for basketball shoes. OK, so maybe they were extremely comfortable and eye catching, but the use of carbon fiber set them off like fat laces in shell toe Adidas. Yes, Nike made other colors in the Zoom Flight, but the carbon fiber joints were the most attractive.

Nike has been dishing out classics left and right. As we reported earlier this year the Zoom Flight 95 had a visit with Nike’s Retro Doctor and would release in 2008.However the ZF95 has already released in some parts of the world. The Vivid Blue Air Max 90, Zoom Flight 96 and Air Force Max CB made it into stores before 2008, but it looks as if the Zoom Flight 95 will hit US stores in January.

The Zoom Flight 95 will return true to it’s original make up (see OG’s below). Everything seems to be the same from the colorway to carbon fiber to laces, and “Flight” is also seen on the back heel tab. Due to the use of carbon fiber the retro will release as “Air Zoom Flight Premium”. According to the info provided, retail is set at $140. Images courtesy of kobelin1127.

  11. Oh the Zoom Fligt 95 is sick. I remember them when they first came out. 140 is fair and they look like the og’s.

  12. Another classic that most of the new kids know nothing about. J Kidd use to sport these all the time. ZF95 and the Zoom Flight Five in 08. Wonder what else Nike is planning to release.
