Nike Blazer SB Chuck Taylor Inspired

Nike Blazer SB Chuck Taylor

Why is it always the better shoe samples that end up kicking the can before we see them put into production? The Blazer SB seen here pays tribute to the sneaker forefather, the Converse Chuck Taylor. When the Blazer first made its appearance on the court in the 70’s, the large swoosh was the key selling point in making the shoe stand out amongst the rest.

The sample features a nostalgic canvas upper and a swoosh that is thrown in the Air and only outlined in black stitching. Also, key Chuck Taylor elements come forth with a thin stitched tongue, tounge tab, sockliner, black trim around the midsole, metal lace holes, and heel tab made to mimic the Converse seal of approval on the Chuck Taylor models. We can only hope the right people will reconsider their decision to scrap this sample and give this basketball themed Blazer a shot. Images via MentalKicks

If these are supposed to look like Chucks, then how come they went and got the stitch color wrong? The stitch should be white like the picture of the Chuck Taylor in the last one. FAIL Nike. Big FAIL.

I gotta agree with Converse King on that one, the stitching should have been white. We can barely see the swoosh with the black stitching. Then it would have looked more like the actual chuck taylors but overall, it’s a nice all around shoe that can be worn on many occasions. Keep the good sneaker news coming TSG!!!

  13. i think that was the point not to see the swoosh but knowing it is still there, to make it an extra chuck taylor-look, b/c there’s no swoosh in chuck taylors ( haha knee slapper) =]

  14. UM.
if we were to want a shoe that look like chucks, why not pick up some real chucks that are like half of the price of this blazer.
ah, funny what the hype behind nike sb can do.
