Nike Dunk Mid SB – New Griptape

| October 2, 2009 | Comments (13)

Nike dunk mid sb new griptape

A new Dunk Mid has hit select accounts overseas and it shows that Nike SB is sticking to their guns boards from previous releases. The Dunk Griptape SB Mid hit accounts in 2007 and now a seemingly similar colorway is back with a slightly kick “flipped” appearance. The 2007 to 2009 model compare with the same leather/textured griptape material and light graphite swoosh. The two only contrast with a slight color change on the SB embroidery on the strap and accenting lace color-ups.

There is no word on a US release but info will be updated as needed. Is the slight alteration enough to make you cop these Griptapes for the first time or again if you have the original pair? Spotted at Dunkbar via 540

Yo G..to make it even worse…in the 2010 Summer Preview (If you didnt see it ill send it) There is ANOTHER griptape mid dropping next summer…based on the pic it looks identical!!! What the hell is happening to SB???????? After the brainwrecks and the Michael Lau boat shoes (joints are amazing) I think Im done….

  4. Scotty Rock says:

I mean, shit I like how they flipped it on the real. That was a classic with the skaters. All the peoples I knew was huntin’ them joints. To skate at least. Nobody liked the High Top wood joints, nobody liked the Independent Blazer joints. But peoples was peepin’ these. So they came back, and tried their luck with a little wrist flick and it worked. AND? So what? You ain’t gotta buy these sneaks man. I will. But chu’ ain’t gotta do nada.

So just got the word from the SB connect…these are called the bloody grip tapes (how stupid is that) these will be an October quickstrike with the BrainWrecks…this is such a waste of time and money…the only thing different from the orginals is the laces (which they come with the whites just like OG’s) and these is a red SB hit on the strap and tongue…please save the money…take your laces from you Jason dunks high and your good to go….Damn I hear the kids from Nike 6.0 laughing there asses off in the next cubical…

  11. edizzle says:

i can see why they are releasing these..to get more sales and simply becuz not everyone wants a colorful ass shoe to rock. these will be good for beaters. not bad, but not great either.

  12. sneakerfresh9 says:

what happened to nike sb, they use to make kicks that stood out of the ordinary and were hella sick. like the de la souls, dino jrs, tiffanys, slam citys, sharks, jedis, purple pegions, and bunch of other shit from back in the days that gave nike sb its flame. now there plain, boring, and wack nowadays for ALMOST all the models being released and thats putting out nike sb’s flame.

  13. Curt says:

    You sneakerheads crack me up….

As a skater, I don’t want some stand-out expensive ass shoes to go rip it up in. I want something simple and on-point to skate in. and THESE are it. of course the blue/black dunk mids are killer lookin’ for rockin’ and I wouldn’t be against skating in them, they’re the perfect blend of functionality and style. and i’m betting half of you don’t skate at all anyway, so why are you looking at SB? if you want all the flash, just buy the non-skate dunks. that is what i’d do. SB pretty much stopped all of the flashy BS and got to making shoes that are worth skating in that I won’t mind shredding to bits. my griptape lows look simple but they skate beastly. so i’m not complaining. Nike SB is always my number 1 go to shoe.
