Nike Exec On Lavar Ball: “The worst thing to happen to basketball in the last hundred years”

Money talks and so does Lavar Ball. Due to his talking and image it looks like he may have ruined his opportunity for his son, Lonzo Ball, to sign with Nike.

Lavar has been making headlines, and it’s not sitting well with some people, including Swoosh. Nike exec George Raveling shared his thoughts on Lavar Ball, and was quoted saying this about Ball: “The worst thing to happen to basketball in the last hundred years.”

Anything is possible, but it doesn’t look like Lavar will be getting that big check from Nike.

What’s your take on Lavar Ball and the Nike exec’s comment?

  • thats a large statement and i dont know enough about the history of ball to agree. BUT I will say that when heard about what he was doing i knew that was gonna be wraps for most contracts for ANY of his son’s. I think he said something like “all three of my sons we want 1 Billion for all three.” and i think he name dropped “Nike, UA, Adidas” come on bruh let your boys play and let the game they play create the need.

I get the support for his sons. That is valid, but all this loud noise and extra stuff? This guy is a total douche. “The loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room.” -Denzel Washington, as Frank Lucas in “American Gangster”

  • They should cast him for Idiocracy 2.

Yea the major brands are going to make an example out of him. Bottom line is if they cave to him, the fear is another parent is going to be right behind him with something more ridiculous.

Should of shut his mouth and fall back.

He could of at least waited till his boys got situated and then maybe be a lil outspoken.

All his kids need to be emancipated before he destroys them

I get it…but that comment was too far. He is still a father at the end of the day at least he is supporting his sons unlike other dead beats out here.

So according to Raveling, he’s worse than Nike sweat shops, Donald Sterling, Barkley spitting on a fan, referee gambling, Kobe/Rose/Marv Albert rape accusations and Nike actually starting the big money seduction to high school/college/Olympic players in the first place? Lonzo Ball is no more a dick than MJ’s Dad…. and guess who helped sign MJ with Nike on the promise of big money and a signature shoe line? George Raveling.

    Nuff said.

That would be crazy if the didn’t live up to to all the hype, he’d look like a real jackass.

Nike cares about its bottom line and nothing else. If they feel he’s going to bring in money you can bet they’ll sign him, regardless of this nonsense quote about his pop
