While you were out eating with your boo on Valentine’s Day, we hope you had a chance to watch the 2009 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. If not, we’ve got you covered with highlights of the winner, Nate Robinson. He was first spotted in orange Nike Foamposite Lite’s, but when he changed into his “KryptoNate” Foamposite Lite’s the crowd went crazy.

Nate came out in a KryptoNate t-shirt and he won the contest by jumping over Dwight “Superman” Howard using a kryptonate, or you can say kryptonite basketball. It was nice to see Nate beat Dwight by using Superman inspired swagger. 5′9″ dunking over 6′11″ equals win!

Now everyone wants to know when/if the KryptoNate Foamposite Lite’s will ever be available to the public. When we know more, you’ll know more. Check out the images after the jump and let us know what you think…

UPDATE: We just got word that as of right now Nike will not release these sneakers. Four pairs were made for Nate and two size 9 samples.

  4. I want the KryptoNate’s to release and will get them. The orange ones don’t do it for me. I’m telling you when Nike is up at bat during the All Star game they hit a home run last year it was the XX3’s now everyone is going crazy over these, not to mention when MJ or other Nike atheletes hold it down.

    I like those Foamposite Lites. Solid colorway. I’m not sure I’d pick them up but they’re very nice. Thanks for the info G-Roc and I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the release info.

    WELL I DON’T KNOW WHO’S GOT THE WRONG INFO ABOUT THE RELEASE OF THESE NATE ROBINSON OR TSG (G-ROC) IN AN INTERVIEW AFTER THE COMPETITION NATE ROBINSON SAID “NIKE WILL RELEASE THE KRYPTO-NATES”

  33. Joey if I remember correctly Nate wears a size 10.5. Hola Hola I could be wrong, but the person that gave me that info is getting 2 pairs. That’s how I got the info about the 4 pairs in Nate’s size and the 2 size 9 samples (I can’t say the other size, but 2 pairs were made in that size as well). Like I said I could be wrong and honestly after all the hype it would make sense for Nike to release them. Maybe they will release minus the logo? Heck, who’s knows, but as always, time will tell everything. So forgive me in advance if they do drop, but I’m just trying to be helpful with info that comes my way from solid sources of TSG. When I know more TSGers will know more!
