Nike Sportswear Air Pegasus ‘89 “Berlin”
The release of Nike’s Air Pegasus was a groundbreaking feat in itself in many ways but today the Pegasus is commemorating the breaking of a wall instead. The Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 was designed for this special moment to erectify the fall of the Berlin Wall which officially was November 9th, 1989.
The shoe emigrates much of the Walls history such as “Berlin 89″ stitched on the heel, lace locks and insole of the shoe. Also, a concrete swoosh is transcended on the upper to represent the blockade respectfully. Incorporating style into the overall shoe is a smooth purple hue to round out the grey suede and black mesh. Constructed to represent the fall of the wall, no “a-fence” is taken by many affected by this historic time period.
The shoe is cemented for December 4th launch date and will be limited to 510 pairs at select Nike Sportswear retailers. via HighSnobiety
