One Special Thing

| August 18, 2010 | Comments (60)

It’s one of those days, no work, no classes, no exams to study for, nothing to do at all. I try watching TV, nothing on, try to play a video game, boring, hit up one of my boys to chill only to come to the revelation, I have no friends. Darn, guess it’s on to the next one. Time to make some moves, maybe check out some foot hotness (I don’t know if anyone calls it that).

Browsing, looking, scoping, window-shopping, viewing, surveying, scanning, examining, whatever you call it, I’m doing it. Touching and grabbing each shoe like those random kids at the Apple Store who touch every iPad or Mac like they have never seen them in their lives. Anyway, as I take a gander at these shoes, it makes me realize, there is one special thing that attracts me to certain shoes. To me, grey sticks out like a sore thumb.

Now I am not referring to overboard grey like cool grey XI’s or cool grey Air Griffey Max 2 GD’s, more like the use of grey on Purple Pigeons or Auburn Trainer SC High’s, basically like the saying less is more. Grey brings out a refreshing and simple look to a shoe that makes it perfect for any season and any time.

Come to think of it, everyone has that one special thing that attracts them to a shoe. I’m not talking about every single shoe you own, just a feature of a shoe that sucks you into it regardless of what the shoe is. Whether it be high-tops, low-tops, a specific color, straps, icy soles, cement print, light up shoes(LA Gears anybody?), or whatever, there is something that appeals to everybody.

What is your one special thing for sneakers?

well i would definitely have to say an icey sole, but more especially 3M reflective material. when lights shines on that reflective material its just grabs my eyes. i guess thats why jordan 13s are one of my favorites

with you on the thinner midsole keith. AF1s midsole thickness in the heel area is the dealbreaker for me too. I think dunks are the best shoe ever. Terminators are cool, even though the panels look like af1s the sole doesn’t suck nearly as bad.

ie. Marshall Amp SB’s, DOOM SB’s, Laser Retro IV…. and so on and so on…

grey is my favorite color. but the cool grey 11 doesn’t do much for me . . . the 574 is my favorite grey shoe. wish i had the pigeons but got both the auburn and clemson sc high and sc 2010 respectfully.

For me, it’s colorways, high-tops (mainly dunks) and icy soles. Colorways really bring a shoe together and I’m talking funky colorways like the DTRT IIIs or Ooompa Loompa SBs. High-tops just do it for me. I don’t know why maybe its the way my jeans hang off them with the tongue pulled up in the front or the way the laces hang when you tie em up just right makes just u feel fresh. I’m particular about icy soles though it depends on the shoe like you can’t throw an icy sole on some Bo Trainers maybe its me but it just wouldn’t look right…
