Reebok’s PUMP Celebrates 20 Years

Reebok The Pump 20 Years

It’s not time to sing Reebok’s PUMP technology Happy Birthday yet because the official b-day isn’t until November 24th. Reebok launched the world’s first sneaker with Pump technology on November 24, 1989. The Pump was supported by a major advertising campaign, and 50,000 pairs were sold in the US the first year.

So likewise, Reebok will celebrate 20 years of the Pump next month. It’s all about the big 20, and Reebok linked up with 20 iconic sneaker shops around the world for the 20th anniversary “The Pump” collaborations.

A few of the shops “The Pump” images have already been leaked, but there’s plenty more to come. The shop exclusive Pumps alongside two original colors will be released on November 20th. It’s safe to say, Reebok will be taking over for the 20th anniversary of The Pump.

Wait, it gets better. Reebok is marking this momentous anniversary with the release of a film documenting the history of The PUMP by cutting edge director Colin O’Toole. The film will be released on November 20th.

So how can you keep up to date with all things PUMP leading up to Nov. 20? Follow @Reebok and @TheShoeGame on twitter.

Not only will followers be the first to know about everything related to the PUMP 20th Anniversary but followers of @Reebok will also have the opportunity to win a pair of the very limited edition bring backs of the original PUMP sneaker.

There are less than 700 of these shoes being produced! Reebok will be giving away 20 (of course!) pairs. One pair each day will be given away beginning November 1st. In addition, followers of @Reebok will also get an exclusive first look at the entire 20 shoe collection!
