Rest In Peace, Jeremy “JTowery” Towery
TSG lost a valuable family member last week by the name of Jeremy Towery. Many of you know him simply as “JTowery”. He was a husband, father, Trainer head, sneaker freak, and all around good dude. A few of us that were very close to JT were hit with this sad news last week. I actually came home to an e-mail early last Friday morning from TokyoMike informing me that JTowery passed last Monday. After throwing a successful Jordan Brand event with Wish, that’s the last thing I wanted to hear.
I’ve never met JT in person or talk to him on the phone, but I felt like I knew him from talking to him everyday on twitter, TSG, or e-mail. He was very close to TokyoMike because they both served in the Marine Corps. JT was also very good friends with Sheinzy, FeetHeat, Jon Soares, AM95Connoisseur, 4Drumz, Converse King, Jedi Jump High, CenValCali, El Chupa Negro, and many more TSGers. JTowery was also well-known and respected on sneaker talk show OSD. Anyone that’s ever talked to JT knows he was one of the coolest cats on the planet.
The cause of his death is unknown at this time. However, we paid a little tribute to JT in TSG Community last Friday, but we are currently trying to put together something for his family. I will keep everyone updated, and for more updates stay tuned to the blog section in our community.

ME AND JEREMY SERVED TOGETHER ON THE USS INDEPENDENCE FROM 1993-1996. THERE WAS ONLY 32 MARINES ONBOARD, AND HE WAS PUT IN MY SECTION RIGHT AWAY ALONG WITH A FEW OTHER NEW GUYS, WHERE HE STAYED THE ENTIRE TIME. WE PRETTY MUCH SPENT 18HRS A DAY TOGETHER, ON DUTY, AT A FEW MILITARY TRAINING COURSES, AND ESPECIALLY HANGING OUT IN PLACES LIKE THAILAND, HONG KONG, SINGAPORE, AUSTRALIA, ETC……

WE KINDA LOST CONTACT FOR A BIT, BUT ABOUT A YEAR AGO, GOT BACK IN TOUCH WITH EACHOTHER THRU FACEBOOK, WHERE WE ENDED UP EVENTUALLY TALKING ABOUT KICKS. EVENTUALLY HE FOUND HIS WAY TO TSG, WHERE HIS PERSONALITY ALMOST INSTANTLY SHINED THRU. HE WAS ONE OF THE COOLEST KIDS I’D EVER KNOWN, AND I LOOKED FORWARD TO TALKING WITH HIM EVERYDAY.

HIS PASSING WAS THE BIGGEST SHOCK I’VE PERSONALLY SUFFERED IN THE PAST 10 YEARS. IT WAS DEFINITELY TOO SOON BEING THAT HE WAS ONLY 34 YEARS OLD, AND MARRIED WITH 3 OR 4 KIDS.

TO EVERYONE ON TSG WHO DID KNOW HIM AND WERE/ARE A BIT MORE INVOLVED IN THIS THAN THE OTHERS, AGAIN, THANK ALL OF YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR BEING A PART OF HIS LIFE FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS…I KNOW HE REALLY ENJOYED INTERACTING WITH EVERYONE HERE.

RIP JTowery. I lost my best friend in 2007, and many family mambers since… Letting go is never easy, but it is a part of life. I hope your family (kids esp) are going to be alright.

RIP JT. never knew the man but i know its hard to lose someone. my prayers are with his family esp. his kids, i lost my father 2 weeks ago and know how lost and hurt that they feel. @TM, very sorry for your loss of a fellow soldier and friend. Besides G-Roc I had never seen someone with a love trainers as much as I do. JTowry was one of the exception.Its hardpressed to believe we really lost a memeber of our community espicially one that was so active many of us can recall conversations with him just days before his passion.Rest in Peace J.towery you will be missed.

I met JTOWERY through the community so I didn’t know him personally in a real-life kind of way but we were connected through TSG. The news of his passing was difficult and I knew that the TSG family had to express their feelings to his family so I set off to make contact, eventually doing so through his cousin and sister-in-law.

I will be collecting as many comments and pictures as possible to compile and send off to Jeremy’s mother, brother, and the rest of his family! Your condolences to the family WILL be passed along! This kind of love and support is what separates TSG from so many others!

I had the pleasure of knowing JT for the past 4 months, while that may seem like a short time we talked everyday on twiter for literally the whole day.

He was the SC and P-Rod King and dabbled in the odd AJ 2K9 which the rest of the #TSGFAM constantly ribbed him about.

I may never have met JTowery face to face but I can honestly say he was a true friend and I miss him dearly everyday.

He loved nothing more to talk kicks, sport or about his son who you could tell was the apple of his eye and who he cared about more then anything.

He was a great man and will be dearly missed on Twitter and in the TSG community.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Lisa I am Jtowery’s wife. As all of the shoe gamer world now knows Jtowery passed away the evening of March 22, 2010. It has been very difficult for me to even get on line to try to contact all of you my brother-in-law, Jeriod, madethe effort for Jeremy and gave the word. I wanted to contact Tokyo Mike, Sheinzy and the OSD community to let them know personally but had a very difficult time doing so. Jeremy trully loved his kicks. I always knew when he would cop a new pair or two when I would get home from work he would be so happy to tell me about what he found and what was headed our way. He would send me pics sportin’his new score when something new would come in the mail. He loved to hit the mall to rock his kicks, “cop ‘em n rock ‘em”. Our last trip to the mall together he rocked a pair of his Bo’s and I the copper foams he copped for me with an intent of us both rockin’ them one day…unfortunately, that day never happened and we did not get a chance to wear them together. I only wear them in tribute to him now. This has been a definate shock to all of us as a family. I’d rather not go into detail about the manner of his death all I can say is that he is gone too soon. His son is following in his fathers footsteps and being a tuff n’ strong young man of 12 and coping as best he can. We both have good days and sometimes not so much but we are ok. We miss him dearly. It is very hard to get to this site and see his handsome self with his kicks behind him…but that was him. It hurts. We keep in our memory his love for his kicks and the joy and excitement he expressed when he was livin n workin the game. He left his son a kick ass collection when he comes to wear a size 13. To all of you who have offered condolences, thoughts, and prayers we thank you. Let JTowery live on in our memories as a true shoe gamer with his great love for not only the PRods but especially the SC Bo Knows trainers as well, he was rockin a pair when he passed and he rocked his favorite pair, the original, when he was laid to rest along with his bright orange “BO KNOWS” t-shirt. I believe he would have it no other way. Rest in peace, you are trully missed by many. BO KNOWS!! JTowery KNOWS!
