Shops get greasy for Yeezys
You have to respect the shop’s loyalty to loyal clientele. Especially when people lined up from the Monday before to obtain such a dope sneaker. We have been receiving a lot of complaints around the country about how things were ran. Auctions putting your 15 year olds against professional athletes, and drug dealers. Raffles that were clearly rigged as everyone’s most notorious resellers win 16 out of 18 pairs. Not to mention the mark ups again that took the last dime out that pocket.
You can’t respect the price jacking by many shops around the country this go around… or the previous two. So is it all a part of the game we play? Is it the recession? We’d like you all to vent now so we can all look forward to a 4th colorway from Nike. My personal favorite was the photos sent to me from a guy who drove 4 hours to a raffle at Next. How are you blessed to receive the shoes yet you can’t spell the name of the shoe right?

the shoe game is in a really bad place as of now. the shoe game is probably at its peek, n the most hyped its ever been. the shoe culture is finally gettin recognized. But with every positive there comes a negative. There r greedy people out there who want to take advantage of this sneaker craze and use it to not only profit off of(which there’s nothing wrong) but get stupid rich n hurt someone else’s pockets in the process. this is why i neva went after any yeezys. i mean i love the sneaker, but most places in the new york city area r either do auctions or just marking the sneaker up to 2x retail. its just not right n those stores that do that should lose there nike accounts. something has to be done!
Yea the shoe game sucks right now. Nike needs to do a better job of distribution an get the product out to more areas. Nike is the main problem with giving limited runs of shoes to a small amount of stores, which creates all this hype and ridiculous resell prices.
Its’ funny how we are suppose to be this “sneaker community” and look out for each other and help each other out but we are always only looking out for our best interests or always quick to say “Whats in it for me?” or “What have you done for me lately?”. I really dont have a problem with resellers since I would say that atleast 40-50% of my collection was purchased from resellers. I have a problem with the resellers who try to act as if they arent resellers. The ones who say that they’re trying to help someone out by selling them some shoes $400 over retail. Yet they try to get salty when someone doesnt hook them up? WTH do you expect?
I know this was suppose to be more about shady boutiques but I just had to put that out there and get it off my chest. Like I said, I dont hate on resellers, because I respect they’re hustle. But dont try and act as if you arent a reseller when you sell shoes for rape prices then get pissy when someone wont help you out. I love the Yeezys but they certainly have brought out the ugly in alot of people in many ways.
^i totally agree with you sneakerhead87 sometimes money can change a person but at the same time if they are resellers with older kicks,how can you knock them? i mean i sell kicks on ebay that vary in age but they are somewhat hard to get and may or may not be re-released. if i sell you some older kicks best to believe there’s 2 more that follow that..im not new to the game and you also have to understand that the yeezys wont ever be released again..so thats why it’s like that.
yea its ridiculous i went out with intentions of getting online for the shoes but once i found out places like dqm and other stores were asking 500 for them it wasnt even worth the wait anymore. wih the store boosting prices like this we might as well cop from overpriced resellers if it’ll save us a week on line.

I think we’re now starting to witness the fall of the sneaker game. Not the industry as a whole but the athletic sneaker side. Anytime something starts to get too much press, then add inflation + greed on top of that = Collaspe. Don’t believe me, look at Hip-Hop…Me personally I’ve started giving away all the kicks I had to younger cousins and all because they really don’t mean much to me anymore. Now catch me on the contemporary, laid back, grown-man, tip with my shoes because that all I’ve started to buy (Chucks, Brooksbrothers Loafers, Alife Everybody Mid, Clae, etc). I’m calling that shit now…the shoe game bout to be killed because #1)Hype, #2)Greed, #3)Overexposure from Hip-Hop, #5) The young, tight-pants wearing generation. To all those that continue to collect…big-ups…but to me it’s just not worth it anymore.

That picture says it all. Next had no idea what they were doing as usual. I was like Yezzy? Is that some new version of the most overhyped garbage shoe ever? Naw, it was some kid at a so called shoe boutique called Next in Cleveland, OH that has no clue what the sneaker culture is about. The shoes there went for upwards of $600 a pair. They wouldn’t even tell you where the bids were at. Resellers will be resellers but these shops like Next should have at least a little integrity. They screw up the release of the “Lebrons” VI’s and now this fiasco. LOL! Why would anyone buy anything from these people?
Like I said, resellers arent the issue. Like dude right below me stated earlier resellers help when it comes to older shoes. 40-50% of my collection was purchased through resellers. If it wasnt for them, I wouldn’t have ’94 I’s, ’94 III’s, either of the ’99 IV’s, any of my XI’s, and etc. As far as the Yeezys go, yeah the fact that they were slapped with the limited tag, drove the hype up but people forget that in the sneaker game, its a buyer’s market.If you are willing to pay $700-$1000 for a pair of shoes then you cant be on here complaining about resellers, shops, or Nike because in the end the buyer is the one who makes the choice to camp for a week or spend $800+.
What do you expect shops and resellers to charge if they look up on ISS or NT and they see people going on and on about how “The Yeezys will go for X amount when they drop.” If everyone just waited till early saturday morning or even Friday to wait outside the stores there wouldnt be so much hype. I just find the whole hype discussion funny because people complain about it yet they are usually(key word there) the same ones who are hyping the shoes up in the first place. While I like the fact that I own shoes that not to many others own (or damn near noone has around my way), I hate that this is what it does to people.
If the rumors of a 4th cw is true, I honestly wouldnt mind if it was atleast an urban account release instead of a tier 0 quickstrike like the first three were. Yeah, a few more people would have the shoes but atleast it would be copped easier and it wouldnt be as much bickering.
Stores shouldn’t be allowed to auction kicks. If you can’t get kicks for retail price what’s the point of putting prices on them? Shoe companies should fine stores that auction product. The only place I want to see an auction is on eBay.
I can’t deny it I wuz up 5 am in the mornin, beat my alarm b4 it buzzed, showered up, put on my LRG+Levi’s 550+Lobsters SB+all BLK Angels’ fitted ready to drive 1 & 1/2 hr away just to try & cop the Yeezy’s. Niketown SF wuz holdin down a raffle for 28 prs. of the Net/Net sellin for $215(retail folks). So in order to increase my chances of coppin, I brought along my Daughter wit me & also keep her Old Man company, so we can chop it up about school, current events, & kicks (not that she really cares). As we got to dwntwn Frisco, little to my knowledge….everybody in line brought their loved ones! It wuz close to a hundred ppl….My smile quickly turned into a Thizz Face….Our numbers didn’t get called, but it wuz well worth it. The anticipation & nail bitin patience ended in a matter of minutes. Yea I said that I wasn’t feelin the CWs, but I felt as though I could pull this khaki colorway off easily….Just that the hard part is gettin your palms on a pr….Congrats to the folks that copped a pr or 2 or 3 (resellers) over the weekend….I shall overcome the HYPE!
I took that picture. Worst part about the whole situation was that they wouldn’t even tell customers what the high bid was on each pair. You just had to throw out your best offer. They hoped people would over pay, and they’d make a killing.

Me and my friends were up @ 5 as well we were on the road by 6 got to the dtlr (downtown locker room) in waldorf md. by 7:45, only two of the five of us were gettin them me and my friend got the other three to get tickets so if there number is called, they’ll give it to one of us…i got my pair and my other friend got two pair.one to keep and one to resale so we lucked up big time by bringing our other three friends….
In my “experience” Yeezy’s are an ugly, stupidly designed shoe. Which isn’t at all hard to believe because Kanye West is the brains behind the operation.

Don’t you get a pair of the Air Yeezy’s when you fill up with 8 or more gallons at shell? If not you should because that is how ugly they are.
Nike is a marketing company first, and a sneaker company second. The methods they utilize help maintain and build their brand. These limited runs make people go ape, and assists in keeping the Nike name in the upper echelon of brand/product recognition. Limited releases are just one of many marketing strategies that Nike has up their sleeves, and the strategy is not going anywhere so get used to it. Sad but true.
Kanye is not to blame. I think nike should have made a little more production of the shoe (still limited) & nike should have choosen better stores to sell em at

80% of people who camp out a week before the initial release, are there to resell.
Yeezy’s are worth $215.00 But the yeezy’s are not worth sitting outside a store for a week to get them.
So they’ll pay the resellers 700-1000 for them. $215 for the yeezy’s and $485-785.
I’m not the richest guy, nor I have a rich paying job. I still make 800 a week. I could camp out a store in NYC and resell the yeezy for 1000.
I would make a net profit of $635. (taking out: cost of the yeezy at retail price, ebay, paypal, shipping fees)
So I think I’ll just go to work everyday, go home at night to my girlfriend, have a hot meal, a hot shower and some hot sex.
But that’s just me.

I liked the black pair enough that i woulda paid maybe a little (and i mean a little) over retail for them. In Alaska no stores got them, period, so i aint to worried about who selling what for what. If i was in the lower 48 and got a chance to get a pair i guess i woulda just missed out too. aint no way im missing 4 days of my daughters life for any shoe! (sorry) as far as this auction **** goes, if i did wait a day or so for them and they opened the doors and told me that, me and the fellas woulda all left with 2 pairs, ya heard me! REAL TALK

im un-ds’n at least 50 pairs this summer, collecting new stuff just aint the same as it used to be. i dont have that urge like i did when there wasnt alot of money, and you had to run down to footlocker and get em. and even though i buy and have bought shoes off ebay i gotta admit for me, it has ruined the shoe copin exp! My favorite is when shops say thanks humbly for your support after they marked up the shoes.Humble? Na then I read on twitter all week how they have such a headache from the release. Crooked auctions or auctions period are wack other than that it’s business. If you want em bad enough you’ll get your money up. Fact is Yeezy resellers overplayed their hands. Getting them weeks before release is one thing but there’s plenty of cats sitting on numerous pairs and they’re not moving. Ebay is oversaturated with them. So any dude expecting to get $800 or so after release is just playing themselves. If they release more colorways and eventually make them GR or not as limited they’re really gonna feel stupid.

Them boys gutter had to put down on some dudes leaving and coming back talking bout they got a list. no haps they got their spot took. i got five pair sold 3 on ebay.BY the way store was THE SHOE GALLERY IN MIAMI BIG UP TO THE STORE, THE OWNER KEEPS IT REAL ALL THE WAY. but he changed the way he sold the tan/net yeezys made a raffle cause them dudes complained i still got 4 pair.
yall are some fuckin cry babies. i didnt see all yall cryin when SB’s drop at stores for $100-200 when the box price is $79. i paid $50 above retail for my Yeezys because it was still cheap in my mind because i thought they would retail for $300 or more tops. and to you know it all lames….KANYE even said the shoes were originally going to be an EBAY only auction item but Nike said no. that shows he aint want everybody to have em. where are the tears at now? times are hard and i dont knock ANY hustle right now. and like the great saying goes…”a fool and his money are soon parted” . take it how you want. its just rubber and leather and you will die anyway.
I feel what i lot of people are saying on here. Especially the guy **FRank***. He is totally on point. If he makes 800 a week or so thats a good 40 -50K a year and taking a week off of work to make an extra 600 bucks just doesn’t make much sense.
Obviously if you put your entire life (whatever that may be) on hold for a week to cop a pair of sneakers to make 600 dollars then good luck because I am pretty sure you REALLY REALLY need the money. (and please don’t come on here frontin’ that you don’t cuz trust me NO ONE believes you)

hahaha wow, i live in the cleveland area and actually camped out at NEXT for that lebron pack which everyone knows they f*cked up. so i get an e-mail saying they’re getting the yeezy’s and i was like okay maybe another campout…then i keep reading and it says auction only. goooo figure! just because they’re the only store in ohio getting the kicks they know they wont lose customers and will still sell every pair for 600 bucks! if i want’em that bad i’ll just buy from a reseller. damn. im glad i didnt go out there and waste my time b.c that’s what i knew it was gonna be. i was gonna vent on there blog but the comments section was turned off on that post. for good reason. NEXT needs to start gettin there shit together for these releases and stop screwing over there loyal sneakerhead customers b.c i know for a fact just about every sneaker head in OH has been there and bought from them including me, kdoglbj23 and cleveland222. i should give NEXT a call tomorrow and let’em know what i think lol
