My girlfriend went to NYC Tuesday night to attend an album release party for Drake and for whatever reason dude never showed.

his album is tough i aint gonna lie, but he raps about being fresh all the time and never really is. I think wale is a good artist and if he had the same opportunities as drake he would be just as if not even more famous. Cudi put out day n’ nite,that song was the shit. if drake flopped do you think he would be collabing w/ jeezy, jay, wayne, alicia keys? they use him like he uses them. None of them industry cats can make a real friend its always about $$$ w/ them.

Wale’s Mixtape about Nothing is actually way better than this his album. Cudi is just a medicore rapper with a great alternative album. I will admit that Cudi can’t rap very well and Wale is pretty much the sneakerhead version of the Game with all the name drops every five seconds to athletes and Nike. Drake is in the same boat as them just that he has way better marketing and has an actual label backing him compared to Wale who couldn’t even get proper distribution.
On Drakes lyrical ability he is in the same boat as LL Cool J and Fabolous . He directly caters to females on his songs and has a penchant for corny punchlines that amuse casual female rap/rnb fans. The people that buy albums. Rap groups like Little Brother can rap about having woman problems and juggling a rap career way better than he can due to better beats and a variety of subject matter. Drake on the other hand can’t do this due to the fact he pigeon-holed himself into the role of being a heartbreak rapper.

This episode is the funniest by far even though I like Cudi and Wale. But Drake is running the rap game right now no question about it.

I don’t listen to much hip-hop/rap anymore but I decided to preview Drake’s album on iTunes today… seriously UNimpressed! What’s with that whiney nasally delivery!?!? I can appreciate when someone is good at what they do… draw your own conclusions! Plus, I just can’t get past the Degrassi thing!

REE – Phenomenal as always brother! I like how this one deviated from featuring kicks yet they’re still a key element in the frame and character development!
REE is a talented guy. As far as rappers go all of them are overrated. I rarely listen to hip-hop anymore and from what I’ve heard lately I’m not missing much. Plus when Lil’ Wayne is considered the best……

Hilarious, and am I the only one that thinks Wale is dope? Oh well, I like what I like. And Cudi is not a rapper. He’s more of a creative who happens to do music. Man On The Moon was not a rap CD but he’s black so they have to put him in a category. (and I’m not even sure he’s black with a name like Mescudi).
