Sneaker Hunting Ain’t Dead : Pt. 2

| September 27, 2011 | Comments (32)

The art of sneaker hunting doesn’t require a lot of skills. However, it does require a lot of time and patience. These days, most hyped releases don’t stay on shelves for very long. But, every now and then, you may run across an area that is virtually unknown to the sneakerhead culture.

As stated earlier, finding these so-called “gold mines” takes a lot of time and patience.  There is no specific guide to sneaker hunting. No special instructions or tools are needed. Just make sure you have the right amount of time to search, gas up your ride, and enjoy the hunt!

Recently, while on a family trip, I decided to do a little hunting of my own. Although there was nothing too spectacular, there were a couple gems in the mix. Here are a few pics of what I came across. Happy Huntings!

  5. BTD says:

  6. Rorro says:

There are only 3 most wanted sneakers that have never been retroed, Reebok Kamikazes 1 and 2, and the Shaqnosis. From my own personal view… these are the power and the fierce of the 90′s basketball along with Charles Barkley nike sneakers.

  7. Alex says:

Wats the name of the store && what state?

  8. sneakergameinsane says:

  11. BorDoughBoy says:

@G-Roc. Just had one of those gratifying hunt days this past Sat. Came up on a pair of Air Max 1 ACGs (blue joints) for $39.00. What makes it even better is when you weren’t even shoppin for yourself in the first place but see something that leaves you with the choice of HAVING to get it or be a played out SUCKA for life looking back at how u passed up on a crucial deal. Love cathing cheap heat off the humble.

  12. jlovesneakers says:

this must be in hong kong in fa yuen st.

  13. TokyoMike says:

Japan’s great not only for the major, go to shops, but more because there are so many TINY shops here that sell vintage clothing where the possibility of finding something that makes your head spin is pretty good. Found some OG Adidas Fires (made in 1984, and still wearable) about two months ago for $12 in a tiny shop that specializes in hats and bags…..stores like that make you take your sweet a$$ time when you go hunting and really look around….

  14. L says:

    ^ YEAH!!! that’s the realest shit man…haha.

Going to be doing a little sneaker searching of my own around next year.

  15. NoliCorpMIA says:

Like he gonna give up this spot.

  16. G-Roc says:

Dang. They still have every Jordan Retro that dropped this year. Crazy.

  17. John B. says:

all i can say is wow

  18. Geo says:

YOTR for the F’in win hahaha

  19. Jawrduhn says:

Gotta love spots like this, only come up every few months or so, but dope as hell when they’re found.

  20. @BIGGFREDD says:

U NEVER KNOW WHERE U CAN COME UP ON SOME HEAT. THERES NO BETTER JOY THAN FINIDIN A PAIR OF KICKS WHEN LEAST EXPECTED. I CAME UP ON A PAIR OF OG DEADSTOCK HUARACHE PLUS’S AT AN ESTATE SALE HELD BY AN ELDERLY COUPLE! U JUST NEVER KNOW! HAPPY HUNTIN!

  21. the YOTR 7′s are a must cop at 99.99 no matter what size

  22. Alan says:

    A resellers dream lol

  23. jlopezjr1 says:

Saw this post and had to share my go to spot. I live out here in southern cali (san gabriel/pomona valley). There’s a mall in puente hills with a store I check in on almost once or twice a month (time permitting). It’s a Champs Sports, but it’s an outlet store, so all kicks are legit but at super reduced prices. As an example, seen in the past 2-4 months at this store were:

    Columbia IX’s
    25 anniversary 4′s
    25 anniversary 2′s
    Looked like Motorsports six rings
    Foamposite six rings
    All for $100-$120

Limited edition Orange shoebox trainer one’s for as low as $30 i think and they also had the light blue bo jackson trainer ones for like $80 or something.

If anybody lives out here or if you’re ever in LA visiting, defenitely check to see if you can hit that spot up. Inventory rotates almost weekly and jems are almost always in stock.

FYI: All sales final, and will not help over phone with inventory checks…tried before.

Just doing my part to help the sneakerhead community out!

i do all my sneaker hunting online in japan. for one thing shoes release earlier here and for another they tend to stay on shelves longer. the wolf grey jordans are actually on sale here and they still have full size runs at a lot of places for the metallic v’s. i’ve even seen hot shoes from two years ago (like the sneaker freaker new balances) still on shelves.

  25. J-FROST says:

    Thats my closet…lol

  26. snkrcritique says:

At one spot of mine I bought ’09 Space Jams for $50!!! The most recent thing I picked up from them was Sunset 5′s for $20!!! I’m inspired now to go hunting for those yotr 7′s

  27. Kicksboywonder says:

    WOW!!! Nice find

  28. Ddub says:
