The Reebok x Sneakersnstuff Kamikaze II Mid ”Polkagris” takes its inspiration from a great Swedish entrepreneur Amalia Eriksson, who back in the 1850’s cooked up this delicious mint flavoured candy in an attempt to cure her daughters cold. The candy known in Sweden as Polkagris (Polka pig) has ever since become popular all over the world.
Back in 1989 when Bobby Brown was singing about his prerogative and Tone Loc was talking about Wild Things, Shawn Kemp came into the NBA at just 19 years of age and very rapidly got famous for his explosiveness on the court. As the name tells you, the Reebok Kamikaze II was the Reignmans second signature shoe and first came out in 1995, and we are very proud to have been able to work on such an epic sneaker.
To really get that Polkagris feeling on the Reebok x Sneakersnstuff Kamikaze II Mid we of course went with a pretty obvious white and red color combination, but also coating it to give the whole shoe a bit of a marbeled effect – just as a proper Polkagris.
