The Holy Grail talks about the Sneaker Raid
By now you’ve heard about the riot in Los Angeles after the Lakers won the NBA Championship. The Holy Grail consignment sneaker shop was attacked during the riot. TheHundreds spoke with Liz and Richard Torres of The Holy Grail about the drama that popped off Sunday night.
Torres estimated his loss at $140,000. He expected his insurance would cover it but noted that some of the vintage sneakers were irreplaceable. He said he hopes to reopen the Holy Grail by the end of the week.

Yea, thats really messed up. Whats really sad is that i saw so called ‘sneakerheads’ on other websites saying stuff like “Damn, i wish i was there!”….I thought the real people in the community were suppose to watch out for eachother in a way, and here i see like over 20 people saying they wish they were there….The whole tight-knit sneaker community we use to have long ago is gone, and its a damn shame we have these wannabes taking over…The really screwed up part is that majority of the items stolen werent even owned by the shop, those were other peoples pride and joys.

With that being said, much love to Liz and Richard and sorry for their loses, including those who lost their items in the shop. I have ordered quite a few items from the Holy Grail, the most recent being a Haze New Era..Its a great spot and i wish them the best of luck in getting things back up and running. Get yourself a stock run with no windows and only 1 door, and let that door be a big 8 inch steel fireproof door with a few bolt locks haha.

Just went on the stores’ website. Damn shame at what happened. It’s crazy because HG had alot of shoes that he was selling for good prices. I hope he gets back on his feet. I would have no problem doing business with him. Nuff Respect

This act was shameful, but a fact of life nonetheless. The good news is the shop has insurance and this act is getting them more brand awareness than they could have ever dreamed of. Considering the positive attitude the owners have, I’m confident that Holy Grail will come back stronger than ever.
@CenValCali I know that, but from the L.A. Times pictures, There more minorities than white folk. I’m actually Spanish(born in my country) and just hate seeing sh@t like this. Maybe I’m a bit harsh, but there was no call for the sh@t they did. That type of behavior belongs with the dogs.
