The Return of the 34
I never thought the day would come, and honestly I don’t think the guy that “KNOWS” everything (Bo Jackson) even knew about the return of the 34. Well, to my surprise, the sneaker brand that’s full of surprises continues to shock us once again. This time around the Beaverton based brand took it wayyy back to 1990, which was the kick-off year for Bo Jackson’s Air Trainer SC line.
If you read TSG comments, you probably read my hint about the return of the “34″, but if not, we have flawless proof that the 34 is back! We posted pictures of the samples back in June, but the samples didn’t have 34 on the back. Today we are pleased to break the news about the return of the 34.
This Air Trainer SC High was inspired back the original Raiders Air Trainer SC, but there are several differences between the OG’s and the 2009 retro. However, we know that won’t stop OG Nike heads, and Air Trainer fans from scooping a pair or two. So, who wants a pair? Our ekin family at Nike Lenox Square Mall just received their shipment, but these won’t last long, so move quickly! I am in HEAVEN…… G-ROC …. no frontin’…This is the shoe that started my passion for kicks. This is the first pair of BRAND NAME sneakers I ever had and the first pair of kicks I bought with my own money. I almost shed a tear looking at these pics… #34 on the back!!!!!! BO KNOWS…… AM95 KNOWS, G-ROC KNOWS…. TSG KNOWS….. GOD KNOWS….. When do they release G???????

OG and 97 retros had totally different materials. This is a disgrace. as a big bo fan, these will be left for others. as I dont agree with the crap Nike is doing..
I feel you WallyH. These are wayyyy off, and look for the OG vs 97 vs 09 comparison tomorrow. These are ok, but I think it was a bad move to put 34 on the back of these.

The 34 is a good look but I much rather they bring back the wrinkled leather and suede. Just like Nike to make you happy and piss you off at the same time.

The materials arent as good as the old joint buuut just a fresh colorway so you cant pass on these.

I called the local spots and no one had them. I hit up Lennox and the only size they had left was a 12…my size! I scooped em immediately (told them theshoegame.com sent me). Thx for the heads up G-Roc.

Truth be told the ‘97 weren’t even right, so I wouldn’t complain too much. The ’97’s aren’t OG’s. I had the OG from 1989 or 1990 (can’t exactly remember the date/been a long time), when I was a freshman in high school. Both, the ‘97 and these ’09’s are off from the True OG version. I don’t know what the material is called, but the fiber straps on the side/underneath the tab’s are different from the True OG’s. The OG ’89’s have silver threading, not gray in the strapping and they also had a clear/transparent layer that went over the fiber straps threading as well. You really can’t complain too much, because both the ‘97 and these are what they’re meant to be…”Retros”, not exact duplicates. Times change and so do the materials along with those times. I wish I had my OG’s still so I could show you guy’s what I’m talking about. None the less, I can’t complain. It is what it is and I still like them. Nothing brings back the nostalgia of the yesterdays like these and the OG Fire Red Jordan IV’s of ‘89. Those 2 shoes are my grails. Those shoe’s made me fall in love with the shoe game back then/’89. I just wish that I had enough foresight to keep both of those shoes back then.
