Tony Taylor Jr. “Mr. Boober” Interview

Tony Taylor Jr. Mr. Boober
Tony Taylor Jr. aka Mr. Boober one was of the blessed kids that got to design a sneaker for the 2008 Nike Doernbecher Program. Tony designed the Air Jordan 1 High along with Jason Mayden and Estelle Maranan of Jordan Brand. He took inspiration from his alter ego “Mr. Boober” while designing the AJ1. They released at NikeTowns November 14, 2008, and since then Tony has been soaking up the success, collecting kicks, and he’s now working with Jason on another Nike program. Nick DePaula aka Billy Hoyle of SoleCollector and B.O.P recently interviewed Tony. What did they talk about? The Mr. Boober Air Jordan 1 High of course.
Did you follow at all how much they were selling for on eBay?
It was crazy. I saw one article about a guy in Chicago who had like twenty pairs on eBay and he had a whole bunch. He was selling them for a ton. On some websites, I was checking through all of the comments, and some people said, ‘Oh, these are the best Jordans that ever came out!’ That was great and it just made me excited and proud.
