TSG Exclusive: Fabolous Talks About His Shoe Game
F-a-b-o-l-o-u-s is well known for his music and sense of fashion. Sneakers have always played an important role in fashion as well as in the hip hop community. With that being said, Fabolous is one of the names that will pop-up when talking about celebrities that rock dope kicks.
We caught up with Loso back in 2007, and he talked briefly about his shoe game. However, Mr. Remix was in Atlanta last week helping Reebok promote their Classic Remix Collection. In this video, Fab talks about his shoe game including Reebok, Air Jordans, top 5 sneakers, favorite sneaker, sneaker shopping, most he’s spent on pair of kicks and more! Will Fab get his own shoe? Hmm…

ehhh… not a fabolous fan
Nice! I liked the white sneaks Fab had on, not bad. However the blacktops were always a poor man’s sneaker; I would never have them in my top 5 list. (although I did shamefully own a pair at one point)
^Me too, I can’t front like I didn’t own a pair. I like the diversity of his top 5. Most people roasted me last year when I said own the OG Fila classics. Fila turned me off when they went to Footlockers with those loud colors.

Classic94 you are so right homie. When u have money that dosent just mean that you have an ill sneaker game, you need to educate yourself and really know the game. Looks like he has it down now though, I haven’t seen him rock fakes in awhile. But def. a good look for TSG. And fabolous musicly is super nice, the album is 7.5/10 for me but it’s a solid listen for sure.

well he might have rocked fakes back in the day, but he’s the reason Mitchell & Ness jerseys were the only thing people rocked for two summers. His jersey game is probably untouchable. I’m not saying he started the trend, but he’s the one who really got people to put the fit together head to toe.
Raekwon, Wale, sneakerheads. Fabo, not so much.
I have much respect for Fab musically, and the album is kinda dope (at least more than half of it…Stay, Salute, I miss my love). I won’t discredit what he did for the fashion trends in Hip-Hop, but I WILL NOT give homie a pass for making variants “hot” / ok to wear. I know he and B.O.B. are just getting that check but these Reeboks are wack IMO. As for Blacktops…along with Pumps, they were prolly the best things Rbk ever put out. Not discounting the 1st AIs, Triple Dueces, Big Hurts, Shawn Kemps, DMXs, and a few others. And the cream Filas are a classic but I would nev put them on my list “no we don’ttttt do that”

Tokyomike:Wale’s not a sneakerhead he’s a hypebeast. I think that after I saw him in those LS AJ1′s it just made me lose respect for him, he gotta come better then that.
i remember Fab rocking the low Carolina AJ 11′s in the Superwoman video with Lil Mo..and he was rocking the French Blue VII’s in the Trade It All video.
Fab my favorite rapper but i aint feelin reeboks but he got mad swag and when he aint wearin reeboks he be rockin some crazy jordan retros

One dude gets what he likes just because you say he can wear better is just plain akward you are way to concerned about what he wears . Wale is a good representation of a real 90s kid sneakerhead . I respect how he openly says what he thinks is wack without beating around the bush . He calls out the fakes and posers in our community and he is an all around stand up rapper who never tries to hard to fit in with the sneaker community like The COOl KIDS .

^^@ Chaz, what does wearing LS AJ1′s have to do with anything? I wear flip flops, Chuck Taylors, shitty Japanese work sandals etc…..I also wear shit people consider “grails” like it’s nobody’s business…..wearing what you want makes you legit; wearing shit because you think it’s the acceptable thing to do within a certain community, well, you just defined “Hypebeast.”
As far as Fab vs Wale, Wale’s never been on MTV talking to Bobitto, showing off all clear Jordan 6′s and looking like an idiot in front of a guy who wrote a book about sneaker culture. I can see how that may have taken place when Fab got a few super paychecks, and just went out on a cocaine induced shopping spree and bought out all of Canal Street without knowing “fake” Jordans even existed…..so I actually don’t fault him for that to a point….fast forward to now, and Fab’s most likely got a ridiculous amount of legit kicks…..just like Bow Wow lol……but most really neurotic sneakerhead purists wouldn’t consider either of those two sneakerheads since they don’t know sh*t about most of the kicks they have….we all know sneakerheads LOVE to sit around like douchebags and rattle on about the history of every shoe ever made lol……..I didn’t sit down with Fab to talk about kicks, so who knows, dude my have really in depth knowledge on all his kicks, but from watching this small video, it seems like he likes sneakers, has the money to get what’s hot, and it ends there…..and since it ends there, alot of purely nutbag hardcore sneakerheads aren’t gonna consider him to be a true sneakerhead.
i can say Wales not a shoe head, but who knows every single shoe? What is a shoe head? Well I remember when he came into RIF and pointed @ some 99′ bred 4s and called them 3s.. then again TABOO from Black Eyes Peas did the same thing when he came in the store, and I know dam well he don’t know 2 much about shoes like he claims.
They might like kicks, but they definitely don’t love em like we do.
