Vick Is Not Under Contract With Nike

Yesterday, news quickly spread that Nike signed Michael Vick. Today, Nike clears the air about their relationship with Vick.

Nike said Thursday it does not have a “contractual relationship” with Michael Vick, a day after the quarterback’s agent announced a deal with the manufacturer.

In a statement released Thursday morning, Nike said it has “agreed to supply product to Michael Vick as we do a number of athletes who are not under contract with Nike.”

On Wednesday, Michael Principe, the managing director of BEST, the agency that represents Vick, announced the Philadelphia Eagles player had a new deal with Nike during a panel discussion at the Sports Sponsorship Symposium. via ESPN

    They are waiting to see how he performs and at the same time keeping thier distance to see what the backash is going to be

  6. Nike still gives free stuff away to half of the NBA nad half of the idiot who play football. So who really cares

    The signature series that have come out have been a problem with other athletes outside of Kobe, Lebron and a few Jordan Brand athletes.

    Its time nike goes deep into the trainers again like the lates 90s and get some real football talent like previous pro models (Barry, Favre, Seau, Deion)

    there are athletes that have done way worse things then vick and they still got sponser deals! he even served jail time which is more then most do so let that go already!
